Good way to see the city. The trolley will take you around to the main tourist sites. We used it to identify those sites we wanted to come back and visit later. Nice not having to drive and find your own way around.

This was the perfect way to get an overview of the city and highlights. You can get on and off (for an extra price) to do some sightseeing on your own. I would not go on this during Fiesta Celebration as they shut it down early for the evening parade on the last Saturday of the Fiesta.

The tour itself is probably very good. However, if you get Philip for a driver, watch out. He is a sanctimonious, pompous, boring, rude, humorless, lying control freak. When we first got on, he marched down the aisle and told us he liked to narrate and he knew that we would be talking across the aisle. We've never met him... More

The hop on hop off tour is a must for visitors. The city is beautiful!! Don't let the driver ruin your trip, so if you get Philip wait for the next bus or plan to tape your mouth closed, don't breathe and don't look at him. This man is very rude and won't allow for anyone to talk. There's lots... More

Great package deal, get 2 days of the hop on hop off pass, the 2nd day is free. Also includes ticket for the River boat tour and the Towers of the Americas. Tour guides Leroy and Alex were fantastic and very knowledgeable about the San Antonio area and landmarks. Must do!

We were staying in an rv resort and the trolley advertised free pick up for their trolley and grand tour tours. We made arrangements the night before and were confirmed for 8:30 am pick up. Our hotel offered a $4 all day hop on hop off pass for the downtown trolley & Via bus. A great way to explore the city. The drivers are very friendly, knowledgeable and willing to give advice. Don't waste your money on a tour. Simply pick up your Day Pass in advance online or at any of these locations: VIA Downtown... More

…and this was a perfect orientation to major sites of interest. When my wife and I visit a new city, we research beforehand, but always look for a tour bus that orients us to city layout and features, and refines our sightseeing choices in real time. The trolley tours did the trick. Definitely buy the two-day option with hop on/hop... More

Being without car, I took the on/off trolley tour which allowed me to visit the market, Mi Tierra, the missions, cathedral and more. The tour's beginning is centrally located at Alamo Plaza. It's a little expensive for what you get, but the tour guides have a lot of information and it's a cheaper way to see the outlying areas than... More

Sure, the Riverwalk is great. But it's one long walk to Market Square or the Missions! Grand Trolley Tours offers a 1 hour tour (in lovely air-conditioning) of San Antonio historic sites or a hop-on, hop-off option that lets you get out and explore the site(s) of your choice. Running every 30 minutes, the frequency of rides is just right,... More
