About
Natural Bridge Caverns is one of Texas’ largest underground attractions that is best explored on a guided tour. The Discovery Tour takes you through the most spectacular part of the caverns 180 feet underground, whilst the Hidden Passages tour shows you a system of huge underground chambers—or experience both on a combo tour. Otherwise, navigate the outdoor Twisted Trails rope course, find your way out of the AMAZEn’ Ranch Roundup maze, and pan for fossils at the Mining Company. Don’t miss the festivities during the holidays, which include the light-ups and a cozy campfire. For additional discounts, book your tickets online in advance. – Tripadvisor

    Best cave tour ever
We did both caverns (Discovery and Hidden Passages) on Saturday, July 8, 2023. They are stupendous. I’m talking really amazing. Also, the facilities are clean, well organized, and well maintained. The staff is friendly and well spoken So with that said, here are the major negatives. 1. The caverns are steep and in some places slippery. Strength and agility are necessary. 2. Expensive. Prices are high. 3. In most cases, the staff is not too knowledgeable about geology nor these particular caverns. 4. These caverns are advertised as being in San Antonio. However, they are well north of San Antonio. It took us 45 minutes to get there.

    Five star visit ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We visited July 12, 2023. Let me just begin by saying, I was extremely impressed upon our arrival. I didn’t realize this place had so many things to do! I wish we would have arrived earlier so we could do more exploring. The bathrooms were clean, the gift shop was adorable. Our discovery tour was amazing and our tour guide Ben was phenomenal! He was very informative, funny, and most importantly he kept my children entertained the whole time (ages 9, 6, and 4). We plan on coming back someday to do more exploring!

    Great place to visit
It’s definitely a tourist location, but they do a decent job of keeping the cave maintained and protected while still allowing visitors to enjoy the beauty of this place. We were quite impressed with the formations inside the cave and our tour guide was great. We also did the maze afterwards which was fun. We ate pizza afterwards at their cafe and they have a nice gift shop. The bathroom facilities were clean and large. Highly recommend!

    Worth the trip
Very cool to see the caverns and good relief from the heat. The maze and zipline ride are at an extra cost. There is a small restaurant that serves pizza, ice cream and drinks (and other food) and fast food in the main building. They stagger the tour times so it never feels overcrowded.

    Family friendly and educational
I absolutely loved my experience! The Hidden Wonders Tour was beautiful and riding the B.A.T. out of the cave was pretty cool. The tour guide on our tour was very personable and knowledgeable. The maze is also a great place to bond with friends and family while trying to find the objects and navigate out. I went on a Sunday afternoon, and it wasn't overly crowded. The total experience was unforgettable.

    Discovery Tour was amazing
My niece and I went to the Combo Tour which composed of the Discovery Tour and the Hidden Wonders Tour. We both enjoyed the Discovery Tour with our knowledgeable and professional guide Nathaniel. The rock formations are all natural and amazing. Conquering to go down 180 feet was amazing. There were photo ops spots and rest periods. The Hidden Wonders Tour was much shorter and less natural than the Discovery Tour. If you only have a budget and energy for one tour, just do the Discovery Tour and you will be wowed by the experience. The BAT ride on the Hidden Wonders are long and slow and it did require strong legs and good balance. Don’t ride the BAT, if you have doubts you have strong legs and good balance. I recommend to do the Discovery Tour Vs. The Hidden Wonders Tour.

    Nice day trip; Day fun
Day trip to NB Caverns on a Wed. The overall experience there was great. Booked both a Twisted Trails and the Discovery tour online, total cost for 3 adults, approx $180. Online, the price for the cave was $26.25x3, but at the gate, it was approx $50. The Twisted Trails cost: $26.99x3. If you're military, try ITT center, it might be better. On their FAQ's pg, it states there's a 10% military discount (at the gate only not online), but the online price is, obviously, way better. Also, if you're visiting San Antonio & and you're doing the Rio San Antonio River Cruises, they have discounted deals for the Caverns, too. Not sure how good they are, but might be worth a try if you're in the area. Had loads of fun a Ben, our cave tour guide was great and knowledge. The food prices were set to be expected. Bonus, they serve canned beer and wine. And you have to try their lemonade, it was fantastic and refreshing. Spent about 40 bucks for 2 beers, 1 wine, bag of popcorn, 3 lemonades. I know, a bit pricey but when on holiday... Hope this helps, you can really spend a good day there full of activities.

Must See if You Like Caves
We chose to do both tours and were very happy that we did! Each cave is absolutely stunning and has a unique personality! Both have a wide variety of formations and are beautiful in their own right! We loved the way the tour path takes you up close and personal and that you have ample time to fully appreciate each area. Both guides were very personable and knowledgeable. These caves were by far the best I've ever experienced and so is their popcorn from the snack bar! I seriously considered asking my husband to drive back by to get more.

Fun, informative, and exquisite views of natural caverns
As a couple, we took a trip to the Natural Bridge Caverns comprised of Texas Cave trails with indescribable beauty of discovery below your walking feet of inquisitive subterranean showcases. We experienced both Cave trails package deals with private tour guides. We took many photos of diverse sites. I do recommend this Texas Cave Trail with family and friends. Also, much walking, many steps within the cavern, and inclines. The grand finale for us was in the Discovery Cavern tour of the ballroom with lights plus the beautiful cavern view synchronized with music and diverse lights. Wow!!

Amazing wonders to be seen. Go and experience it, however, be advised there is quite a bit of walking and stair climbing. Wear proper shoes for wet and potentially slippery surfaces.

This was beautiful. Well worth the trip. It is a bit strenuous, so keep that in mind. Not for those who can't walk up elevations. So glad we took the time to go.

Some of the more impressive caverns I have seen, but the place is extremely touristy. The prices reflect the place being catered to tourists. They have other attractions such as a ropes course but it all costs extra money. The tour itself was neat.

The Discovery tour I took was crowded and the people were straggling back. I unfortunately was in the second half of the crowd and could not hear the tour guide's talk. More importantly, the LIGHTS WENT OFF BEFORE WE COULD EVEN GET TO SEE THE ATTRACTIONS!!! and there were about a dozen people behind me that also did not get to see it. So there you are stumbling in the dark with wet surfaces trying to find the guard rails. If they are going to operate like this they should be shut down due to safety concerns. I almost fell. Without being able to see the attractions in the light, the tour is totally worthless.

I had a great experience visiting the Natural Bridge Caverns. This was my first time ever entering a cave. I did the Hidden Wonders Tour. It was very cool getting to go down inside and learn so much about various rock formations and calcifications. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, and our group had a good time. The light show at the end was great. Would definitely visit again and do the Discovery Tour next time to visit the other cave!

We were really impressed with the cavern visit. We did the popular "Discovery" trip. We got there for the 9:10 tour and that worked out well because the crowds were much larger when we were done. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the caverns and their history, which made it interesting. There were so many different types of formations to see! Well worth it. The pathway and extensive lighting system they have put in really completes the experience. The walk was described as strenuous but anyone who can walk a couple of miles should be fine. The pathway was steep and wet at times, so definitely bring good footwear.

This is central Texas, so expect some of the local tourists to make snarky comments during the tour displaying their deliberate ignorance of geologic concepts. You will likely have people in your tour group who don’t believe the earth is billions of years old, and who respond to your tour guide’s prompting of how limestone is found at the top of Mount Everest with answers like “bird poop”. Ironic considering the oil and gas industry that the state is built on is based on fundamental petroleum geology concepts requiring millions of years for hydrocarbon maturation.

Our family with a 2 year old and 4 year old did the Hidden Wonders tour. No strollers can go into the cave - Mum is very fit and carried the 2 year old in the baby carrier on her back - down more than 100 stairs. To avoid instability on the “people mover belt” at the end which takes you back up to ground level (similar to the automated walkways at airports, but inclined) she power walked back up to ground level with the 2-year old on her back. Another couple had an infant, also in a baby carrier, and seemed to do fine. The 4 year old had to have his hand held at all times to ensure he did not plunge off the side of the cavern. Overall the kids did fine - but there are a lot of stairs and you cannot be carrying a heavy child around on this tour unless you are extremely fit.

I have been on the original Discovery Tour and think the Discovery Tour is overall better in terms of geologic features and lighting.

Our tour guide was very good. He moved through the large group as the tour went along to ensure a fair distribution of people closest to him when giving his explanations. Not sure how to explain this better. We were at the back, but at a couple points on the tour he came to the back and gave his talk from where we are, which was appreciated.

The complex has a lot of other attractions to entertain the family if you didn’t reserve tickets in advance and end up having to wait two hours to go on the tour (like we did). There is a burger place and a pizza place, and lots of zip lines and other activities for kids. We had lunch while waiting and our small ones did the Tykes course which has no height requirements.

They cancelled our tour 6 hours before the event. When we could not go on their alternate date they charged us $100. Unfair. Policy is 24 hours free cancellation. By the time we found their contact information it was 23 1/2 hours. It was their mistake. And with only 6 hours notice on eclipse weekend there was nothing else available.

We went on the Natural Wonders tour which was very interesting. Lots of good information and cool sites to see in the caves. Wear good shoes as the walkways are often wet and go up or down. Handrails in most but not all situations. Kids on our tour had a lot of fun.

Such a neat hidden gem on the outskirts of the city. Our tour guide was informative (although she got easily annoyed with the entire group if we didn’t line up properly.) The discovery tour was awesome. Would recommend!
