Beautiful Old Church on Main Plaza downtown

This old Catholic Cathedral is beautiful and also the burial location for some of the Alamo heroes. Many activities in front of Cathedral and in Main Plaza during Fiesta.

Small but having so much character cathedral. Place with remains of heroes of the battle of Alamo . Quiet and nicely air conditioned place to take a break, collect Your thoughts, reflect. Quite beautiful interior, modest but in good taste.

Beautiful place, friendly people, nice service in the center of town. We walked from our hotel to mass and then down to the Riverwalk for lunch.

Historic Cathedral located smack in the middle of walking from the Alamo down to the market square. It is a well kept Cathedral that we had the pleasure of attending for palm Sunday. It faces a plaza and open air market that you can hang out and about before or after mass. Nice just to go inside and take in... More

In spite the fact that this is quite a small church it somehow shows the spanish influence in Texas. The panel behind the altar is very nice

We walked most of the way on the River Walk to reach this historic cathedral. It was beautiful on the inside, not full of mosaics and ornate woodwork, but stunning in its simpicity! I loved it!

Fantastic evening show that has great music. The history of Texas is artuflly projected on the exterior of the cathedral! Oh, did I mention it is free? Highly recommended.

It's a small place of cult. Architecture is ok, decoration inside is beautiful. I'm not going to compare this cathedral to those in other cities. None of them are 'The Vatican' if you know what I mean. It's a historic building that played a role in the history of Texas, the ashes of the martyrs of The Alamo rest there.... More

We visited all the missions including the Alamo and the still operating Church downtown, so this is an all encompassing review. Well worth the minimum 1/2 day to full day required to view all the missions. Can I name a favourite...not really however "The Alamo" was by far the busiest and other than being downtown all deserved the traffic!

You cannot miss this landmark. Unfortunately during our visit the square in front of the cathedral was partially closed, so we didn't really enjoy the atmosphere during the day. We were lucky our visit to San Antonio fell on Tuesday and there was a light show projected on the facade of the cathedral. Simply amazing, the performance will tell you... More
