This is a very nice looking old court building. The rock is an interesting color. When walking around it you realize how huge it is. Really cool to see.

One of the most beautiful buildings I saw throughout the entire city. This building oozed old grandeur. The architecture is so interesting. For a city as old as San Antonio, it would be lovely to be able to see other buildings with the same presence as the Bexar County Courthouse... breathtaking!

Hello.
This is a courthouse of classic design.
In place of adding to the building, they built others besides that.
The phone's are crap, low bidder.
Almost everything is low budget.
Cheaper and cheapest.
Or in some way defective.
Exploding light bulbs?
Got that.
New energy saving lamps.
Just one minor setback.
But it looks nice, almost antique.

It’s a beautiful building in great shape. But the five star rating is because of the newly opened Bexar Heritage Center. It has a playful tone at many points and is highly interactive. Beautifully laid out with lots of information and the host was very ready to answer questions with enthusiasm and pride. As a left leaning Canadian some of the text was a little precious for me but that is my only complaint. Free. We likely spent an hour there and barely touched what the exhibit offered.

This Courthouse is located on Market Street and across the street from Main Plaza and the Cathedral of San Fernando. If you are in that area, you will see a handsome sandstone building with nice garden in the front of the building. According to the history, it was built with the Romanesque Revival starting in 1891 and completed in 1896 and is still in full function as the main courthouse. The building was registered National Register of Historic Places in 1977 and also house the Bexar Heritage Museum on the main floor. Worth walking around the building both day and night time.

As a former County Commissioner, I love civic buildings and architecture, especially historic ones like the Bexar Courthouse. While it is a little unique and unlike other more historic and native structures, it certainly stands out and is a great building for civic pride. It is directly adjacent to the Main Plaza and the Cathedral. Best to see it when you visit one of these other sites. It only takes a second and you will be glad you took the time to do it.

Truly beautiful building with lots of architectural features. Fully functional, my son got married on the steps outside by one of the justices (much prettier that way). The outside is fun to pour over as there are interesting features all around including a beehive on the roof.

Beautiful exterior but once you're inside this is a working courthouse. There is a small museum/tourist room worth poking your head into. There is art and historical documents on the hallway walls. Worth a look.

Really lovely building and definitely worth stopping to take a look. Areas outside to sit down however on this occasion I did not go inside. Lovely to look at though.

Visiting the Bexar County Courthouse was more interesting than I expected. There is a separate entrance to the museum on the side of the building. The museum is set up for school age children. We didn’t do all of the interactive things that they had, but still learned a lot. It is worth your time. We spent about 45 minutes there.
