The theater is absolutely beautiful. We have been there a few times and it was wonderful. We went for a concert again. This time the sound system was horrible! We were on the third row and could not understand a single thing. The speakers were just blasting and screeching. So sad. I was so excited to see and hear the concert. It was ruined..

Riverdance did not disappoint. Spectacular!
Disappointed paying $75 for 2 Bloody Marys. Ridiculous. Next time we will stop prior to a show.

Just when you think Texas is all honky tonks and barbecue you discover the Majestic and Empire Theatres in San Antonio, the oldest and largest atmospheric theater in the state. Located at 224 East Houston Street, it opened in 1929 to an audience of 4,000 people for the showing of the musical film "Follies of 1929" and live performances by country music legend Jimmy Rodgers, Mexican troubador Don Galvan, The Bango Boy, the Seven Nelsons acrobatic troupe and Edie Sauer and his Syncopaters. At the time, the Majestic was the second largest theater in size in the nation only to Atlanta's Fox Theatre, which hosted the premiere of Gone With The Wind, and was the first theatre in Texas to be fully air-conditioned. It featured a huge cast-iron canopy covering the sidewalk, a vertical sign 76-feet tall and a cave-like single-story lobby that included copper lanterns, ceiling murals and an aquarium filled with tropical fish. Inside the auditorium were stuffed birds perched on balconies, replicas of well-known Greek, Roman and Renaissance sculptures and specially treated cypress trees imported from Spain and placed on upper-level niches. The Majestic has hosted five world movie premieres, including "To Hell and Back" in 1955, in which Texas-born Audie Murphy plays himself as World War II's most decorated combat soldier. The Majestic was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975 and designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1991.

We changed our travel plans to accommodate attending a performance by John Mellencamp at the Majestic and had a memorable night. The band was rocking! We have many beautiful theatres in NYC but the Majestic is magical!

Beautiful theatre! We walked up on a whim to see Pretty Woman and didn't regret a thing. We had upper-level tickets, but our view and sound were still fine. We entered about an hour early and enjoyed getting to know our neighbors. Price was great and we didn't have fees with the on-site purchase.

We had a great time at this beautiful theater when we came to watch the RuPaul Drag Stars show. While there was a line down the block at the start, it moved fast, the seat-service for drinks was a life-saver I wish more venues would adopt (though selection could be expanded), and the view of the stage was perfect. Everyone seemed to have a good time and everyone I interacted with was welcoming and friendly. Drink service at the seats alone would make me choose this theater again in the future.

We went to the Majestic Theatre to see one of our favorite comedians, Sebastian Monasclaco. He certainly didn’t disappoint. It’s an older place so a little wear and tear. The price of drinks was astronomical. My glass of wine was around $20.

Just saw Jesus Christ Superstar. Favorite all-time musical. The staging, musicians dancers and singers were over the top fantastic! Acoustics were excellent. The venerable old remodeled Majestic (thank you McCombs) is a beauty harking back to the early 20th century architecture. Awesome night! Know a little about Superstar before you go. It is not for everyone. But if you are a fan get ready for your best concert in years!

The Jesus Christ Superstar was Terrible!!
1.5 hours of songs (literally) with no intermission.
cast is onstage using wired mics ... ZERO dialog or character development
i cant believe they would charge people to endure this!

Don't waste your money !!
