There are tours and then there's tours. There are tour guides and there's tour guides. Gary and our tour immediately proved to be the latter. Right at the start, with his take on the Alamo, we were bedazzled. You knew what was coming for the rest of the tour was going to be impressive, and it was! We have taken... More

Gary is truly knowledgeable and you learn alot on this tour. He really explains SA history in an interesting way and makes you understand the intricacies of the Alamo battle. This is a must if you love history and want to learn. I would highly recommend this tour if that fits your needs and wants. However, Gary can be curt... More

Our group of four adults and two teenagers took the History tour. Gary was easily able to get and keep everyone's attention for the two hour tour. Everyone (even the teens) agreed that they had learned a lot by the end. Three adults decided to take the King William tour a couple of days later. Loved seeing and hearing about... More

Brought along a visiting cousin from CA, so I thought I could endure a tour of somewhere I've been a hundred times. Wow, was I surprised. Cousin loved it! He felt like he left knowing something about this city he had visited before, said it was the highlight of his visit. (I thought it was my cooking.) It was cool... More

We were in San Antonio over Thanksgiving weekend and took three of Gary's tours - history, Missions and King William. Each tour was very different but they were all very informative and enjoyable. We could not choose a favorite as they each added so much to our San Antonio experience. If you want to know all there is to know... More

While the description for this tour emphasized that it was a serious history tour, our group was nonetheless taken aback by the intensity. It truly is for those who want an in depth history lesson on this part of Texas. As Canadians we did not have knowledge of some of the American history that the guide presumed people would have.... The highlight of our visit to San Antonio! Beautiful walk with so many restaurants. Be prepared to get a little turned around sometimes. Apparently after Thanksgiving they turn on festive lighting which I'm sure is amazing.

My wife and I took the History, Architecture, and King William walking tours, as well as the Mission driving tour and had a great time. These are not your typical "run of the mill" tourist walking tours. They are "in depth" tours, for folks who want to really learn about the subject, not just hear the "usual story" about the... My wife and I had a very limited amount of time in San Antonio. Gary listened to our needs and customized a condensed and combined tour of the Alamo, the missions and the King William district just for us. Take the VIP tour, it's great!

A wonderful stroll with Gary. What a refreshing, different take on the history of the city. Prior to the tour we had breakfast at The Guenther House. It was a great combination.
