Typically stadium. Crazy overpriced and mostly mediocre food. The pizza was undercooked. The nachos were typical. I did enjoy the Chicago Dog. I’d love to know why the markup is so extravagant at any sporting venue and music venue. Captive audiences?

Facility was nice and cool when 100 degrees outside. BUT they ran out of food at the event!!! Over 14,000 people were there for an all day and evening event. No outside food or beverages were allowed and you were not allowed to reenter if leaving. Mid afternoon they ran out of all food.... even popcorn! No food to eat for the evening made for a very unpleasant experience. I returned in October 2023 for an event with 14,500 people and we were at least allowed to leave and come back so we could eat! If you go make sure that you can leave to eat if you are there for more than a few hours.

Watched a college football game here several years back. While it can't compete with the Superdome, Mercedes Benz Arena or AT&T Stadium in Irving, TX, it was still a good place to see a game. Nicely situated within walking distance from downtown San Antonio's River Walk

I want to complain about your staff.  More specifically about provocative behavior on the part of staff. During Red Hot Chili Peppers performance on May 17. I was in section 137 around stairs. When your staff approaches me with inexplicable fury and without warning shines a flashlight into my eyes during 30 seconds with a distance of approximately 7 inches. This is inappropriate behavior that is seen with consequences such as retinal damage. And you're lucky I'm not an epileptic. I am an educated person who knows how to speak culturally. It is not necessary to behave like this, you could just use the speech and convey your point of view. If your staff can speak, of course. Because, judging by employee’s behavior working in section 137, she does not meet the standards even for a 3 years old child.

Attended the Brahmas XFL game. The stadium is absolutely amazing for its age. The facility has been well maintained and is a gem for a small pro football team. UTSA also uses this facility as well as many other events.

A horrible place to attend an event, especially for the prices you'll pay to be there.

1) Parking is a significant issue. Put your walking shoes on. You can forget about UBER as well, there are too many people, too many streets shut down for major events, and they can't get in or out.

2) The facility itself needs to be updated. Armrests on the chairs feel like torture devices, and the restrooms are about as clean as your average outhouse. There is no central WiFi, and the reception is terrible. Note: Print a copy of your tickets! Do not rely on opening an app to view your ticket. There's a better-than-average chance you can't get reception.

3) Concessions. I don't know who's running the concession teams, but they need some retraining. Concessions are impressively slow for the number of people this place can fill—simple solution. Bonus your teams for transactions per hour. Allow more mobile ordering and pickup and have those instructions sent as part of ticket purchases from all major ticket vendors.

Big stadium-style events are always tricky for logistics, but the Alamodome seems exceptionally gifted in screwing up all the basics. Avoid this place.

I attended the October 29, 2022 Elton concert here. I have been to over 150 concerts in various cities such as Houston, Dallas, Denver, NYC, Chicago, and Miami. I am an *experienced* concertgoer that has seen it all. This was by far the worst managed arena event I have ever been to. We arrived at 6PM - two hours before the show - per email instructions. My concert mate was ADA. At 6PM all the main lots were full and closed and handicapped spots gone. I dropped her off at the ADA drop off and went to find parking. That took me an hour. We only made the show because this woman let me park in her yard for $30. Otherwise I doubt we would have made it. The ADA part: there was no ramp to floor section and only one working elevator. They promised a wheelchair to the seats but that was a 30 minute wait. The "ADA row" itself was a regular row where those in wheelchairs were wedged in and could not really maneuver. After the concert was event worse. I had my mate wait at the ADA area. Concert let out at 10:20 PM and it was 12:20 AM before I was able to access the area! Tons of streets were randomly closed with whole lanes blocked for no reason and all traffic for a mile around stayed gridlocked for two hours. There was no communication or information about what if any lots were accessible or what streets were closed before or after show. I was zooming in on Google Maps to try to figure it out. Also no Uber or taxi access to speak of. Folks that stayed downtown and Uber/taxi to show were up a creek and had to walk back to their downtown hotels. When I got there at 12:20 there were tons waiting to be picked up including some elderly in wheelchairs. Security and venue people could care less - very poor attitudes. We ended up taking two others back to their hotel and got back to ours at 1AM. After the experience got on Twitter to check things out. Reports were they had limited ticket and security lines and many missed parts or most of the show waiting in line, and many gave up on finding parking altogether and left. Finally, the venue itself is an absolute dump! I will never again attend an event here! San Antonio is trying to use this venue to draw tourists who come here for one event and vacuum up their money, but just save yourself the pain and go to your fav show at the better venues elsewhere in Texas who know how to manage a concert.

0/5. Buckle in because this is a long one. My spouse and I attended the Elton John concert on 10/29/22, and we will never go back to the Alamodome. Our only reason for coming here was due to the cancellation of the Elton John concert in Houston (thanks, Astros lol), and we scrambled to get tickets so as not to miss his final tour. I honestly wish we had just taken a full refund. We planned on taking the park and ride to avoid traffic closer to the venue. We arrived at the parking lot with plenty of time to park and ride to the venue. However, every spot in the lot was full and hundreds of people were in line to board the bus. Others were parking in nearby lots and walking across the highway to board. We decided since we were running early, we could just try paying the premium for venue parking. Traffic around the venue was a nightmare with confusing road closures, zero signage, and not enough traffic conductors. Unfortunately, due to the way we entered the city, we could not see that venue parking was full until we got all the way there. We had to turn around and pay some random person to park in their neighborhood then walk to the venue. There were only a handful of people managing the crowds, and they were totally clueless and unhelpful. Security was a joke with everyone streaming through holding our belongings while the metal detectors lit up red. If someone had a weapon, I truly believe the staff would not have known or cared. It was impossible to figure out where to enter the venue. Most of the gates were closed, but this information was not made available ahead of time and was not posted at the venue to guide guests. The confusion caused heavy buildups of people after security but staff only yelled at the crowd rather than provide instruction. As we walked all the way around the Alamodome, we did not see a single security person, and the only staff we saw were those scanning tickets at the gates. Tens of thousands of guests were being scanned in two at a time at each gate. Many people were still outside when the concert started. The venue is not accessible to people of larger sizes, and I felt bad that we were spilling out of our own seats into those of our neighbors. After the concert, we experienced the same traffic jams as we did going in. It was a nightmare, and I truly feared for our lives due to the size and density of the crowd and lack of real security. This venue has no business selling tens of thousands of tickets when it clearly cannot manage that size of event. I will be reviewing and reporting the venue in as many places as I can to raise awareness because it is simply dangerous. As wonderful as Elton John was, my experience was totally ruined.
