The park needs to be updated and cleaned up. Been there several times and it seems to be getting worse.

Tons of birds and water fowl. Gorgeous setting with adequate parking. Great place to picnic with lots of shade and reservable pavilions.

Took my grandkids to the local zoo and went here to let them run off some steam. Nice shaded areas with picnic tables. A neat treat to watch the train go by and wave at real people. Just a nice place to relax.

There are plenty of picnic tables and garbage receptacles for a nice afternoon lunch outside. It was fun to watch the train pass by and wave to the passengers.

Plenty of parking and bike share stations which make it a great location for either a casual stroll or ride after a quick drive from downtown.

We went to the park so we could visit the adjacent Japanese Gardens, but found the park to be an added bonus, good parking and the little train does a full loop of the park with many stops available.

Great walking/running trail and it leads to the Japanese sunken tea gardens which is also free of charge.

Type in "San Antonio Zoo" for more information. The zoo opens at 9 a.m. The weather is warm there so going early is an advantage. It is a lovely zoo and a great train ride through the park. Your family will love... More
