We went to the park so we could visit the adjacent Japanese Gardens, but found the park to be an added bonus, good parking and the little train does a full loop of the park with many stops available.

Great walking/running trail and it leads to the Japanese sunken tea gardens which is also free of charge.

A little piece of paradise nestled in the middle of the city. The park is divided into themes the most popular being the Japanese tea garden. There is water galore here, and it all comes from an under ground aquifer. There are ducks, geese, cranes, even a few fishermen on the banks here. It's hard to believe all this started... More

We often stop by here when we are at the zoo. Its very scenic and quite peaceful. It could be better maintained but that can be said for a lot of outdoor places.

This park and walking path is the he perfect place to spend a Spring vacation day! Although it was a weekday, Brackenridge Park was filled with folks of all ages. Many people were spending their lunch hours in the open air, walking or picnicing. The park is clean and trim. Walking along the river, we could see kayakers, water-boarders, and... More

Our family had a great time visiting Brackenridge Park. We probably only saw a fraction of the park. We were fortunate to be able to ride on the Zoo Eagle Train to see some of the park. We also toured the Japanese sunken gardens. We would love to come here again to see the zoo and the botanical garden. San... More

Love Spring picnics in the park and feeding the ducks or taking a book to read and soaking up some sun on a lazy afternoon. Best to visit the park Monday-Friday, as weekends can be really crazy busy and loud. Stay closer to the main area. The side streets can get a little "iffy" with stray visitors.

First off, this park is huge. I didn't get to see all of it on my first visit. There was great access to the San An river. There's a lovely, quiet pathway with the occasional group of people fishing on the river. The people were very, very friendly! I ended up seeing turtles and cats (which is great.) And all... More

We went to the park twice in our 5 days here. Nice to walk around. Excellent municipal golf course on the site-they weren't busy on a Monday afternoon in March so I played and my wife rode along and played caddy. Wonderful park with some trails and a train that circumvents a portion of the park for kids of all... More
