Fun museum with a lot of interesting rooms so everyone will enjoy it. There are dinosaurs, and texas history, and learning about the body center, an outside tree house and much more. It was alot of fun. Just wish we could have stayed longer to see more. Oh FYI the traveling exhibits are an upcharge which was sad to see

This was almost overlooked on our trip but I’m so glad we went. The museum is small but very nice. My son loved the Dinos and it was cool to me that they were all native to Texas. My kid loved every artifact and I was honestly surprised but they know their customer I guess! The grounds and building were stunning I wish I could live there. Parking is free.

We love museums and nature, and this had both. The exhibits are great, we loved the one on the local meteor fall and the different zones of Texas also.
Smoke Shack across the street is a great spot for lunch.

It was amazing. It was my 1st time visiting a museum in my entire life and I am 55 yo. I don’t like statues or fake animals or people. I had a great time.

Pretty good museum although I felt like it was kind of small compared to other similar museums. Still worth the visit.

Thank you for visiting and we're sorry the museum didn't meet your expectations. When you visit again, we recommend downloading the mobile app or requesting a map of the museum so that you can be sure and explore the entire 10-acre campus. There are many different buildings and locations to visit, so it is easy to miss out on things. The Susan Naylor Center includes three permanent galleries and accompanying labs, including the dinosaur gallery, People of the Pecos gallery and Texas Wild gallery. The live lab, which has many live Texas critters, is a highlight for many visitors. This building also has two galleries that host rotating exhibitions, currently a Fiesta Dress exhibition and Antarctic Dinosaurs from the Field Museum. The Robert J. and Helen C. Kleberg South Texas Heritage Center has two floors of galleries devoted to Texas History. Upstairs is "A Wild and Vivid Land," an exhibition on Texas History. Downstairs there are two art galleries that host rotating exhibitions focused on Texas art and artists and the Texas Trail Drivers gallery. The Mays Family Center, just north of the South Texas Heritage Center, hosts summer blockbuster exhibitions, currently "Tyrannosaurs: Meet the Family" from the Australian Museum. On the riverside portion of the campus is the H-E-B Body Adventure with four floors of activities related to health, wellness and nutrition. Outside are the water works, little treehouse, sky cycle, Mt. Witte climbing wall and river alive exhibit. There are also a handful of historic buildings, including the Onderdonk's Art Studio, a Log Cabin and the Ruiz House, which is where the cafe is located. It's also a great place to explore the San Antonio River and see the 1719 Acequia Madre & diversion dam, which brought water to the mission now known as the Alamo. An interesting final stop is the B. Naylor Morton Research and Collections Center where you can learn about the museum's collection and explore objects not currently on display in the museum. Access is included with museum admission--you just need to inquire at the front desk. Thanks again for visiting. We hope you come again soon to explore any portions of the campus you may have missed.
