My favorite spot in Salem...I love willow trees and this place is "other-worldly". Be transported back to the turn of the century....The 19th Century! Great place to walk near the ocean, see the sights and enjoy great soft-serve ice cream.

Large park with few take out and eat in restaurants. Couple of arcades. Rides for small kids. Beach area and fishing. There is a place to rent Kayaks. They have boat trips. Large willow trees, hence the name. Lot of picnic tables and benches.

I have been going here for years, as I lived in Salem. Even, when we visit, it is always a necessary spot to go get some peace, enjoy some great food, and just watch the boats and ocean. There is a small beach there as well, which most just enjoy sitting by, or the solitude of eating with the wind... More

There are no longer any rides except the beautiful carousel, maybe the boats for small tots and mini golf (there use to be a small roller coaster and a tilt-a-whirl long ago). There are also TWO arcades with the ever awesome Ski-Ball, some fantastic vintage coin-operated machines like Zoltar, dancing monkeys etc...really cool! They have a ton of light up... More

Beautiful spot to bring a picnic and sit on the lawn overlooking the water, or just stroll around. Not sure about the rides these days, since my children are older. But a trip isn't complete without a chop suey sandwich (yes you read that right.) Crazy sandwich, but world famous. As is the popcorn.

Salem Willows gets some bad reviews for being 'rundown' but those in the know are happy to find this place completely unchanged year after year. And there's nothing wrong with enjoying a little slice of history. Parking is totally free if you park up on the hills, literally in the grass where the locals park. Or anywhere along dead horse... It's definitely run down, but a little piece of me loves that it hasn't changed in the 30 years I've been visiting! It definitely feels like home when I return.

I am sure that this is a lovely spot when the weather in nice..It was not somewhere I wanted to hang out on a chilly fall day. Went there to find the pop corn stand. Had to make a second trip as it is only open on Fri/Sat Sun in the fall. It was well worth the return visit to... More

The reviews on this sounded better than they were. I expected an actual amusement park; but it was mostly a couple of kiddie rides next to the beach. There is meter parking, that you have to pay for year round (I went off season) and it just wasn't worth visiting. The only thing I really enjoyed was the sunset.
