I enjoyed wondering around and reading the grave stones. It was quite nice walking around there. Everyone was quiet and the place was peaceful as it should be. Important people from Salem' s History are buried here.

If you've been to other historic cemeteries, then this one is pretty average. If not, then be sure to visit and get a sense of the history that Salem offers. Well maintained and easy to walk around.

One of the oldest burial plots in the USA even got a Captain who came over as a boy on The Mayflower. Reading the inscription on the graves is real history.

Many of the headstones were so old you could not read them. It was an interesting place in a quiet location to stroll through.

Lots of the headstones are hard to read and some of the artwork has been worn away by Mother Nature. It's a quick little cemetery to walk around in, the trees are old and fascinating to look at.

Sounds morbid to visit a cemetery but there is so much history here for the area of Salem. Stones dated back to the 1600's some of them. Very old cemetery filled with a lot of history. Interesting to see what the put on headstones back...More

This was one of the oldest burial places I've been to in the US. Some stones date back to the 1600s and are in remarkably good shape. There's a lot of history here and it isn't all about witches.

this is the second oldest English Cemetery in the United States, with headstones dating back to the 1600's. There was a pilgrim from the Mayflower buried there, and author Nathaniel Hawthorne. Went there as part of a tour, and the tour guide had a lot...More

We walked through the cemetery on our first day and then learned all about it on our history your later that night. There are so many cool facts about the cemetery. Definitely a must see if in Salem.

I don't think dogs are allowed. The cemetery is very small and there are places to sit right outside the actual burial area, including the adjacent Salem Witch Memorial.

There is really no need to book a tour to see the Old Burying Point Cemetery, and there is a very useful map/chart at one end (check the photo I attached to my review). And do not miss the small memorial area for the Salem... More

Free to stroll through (lots of the spooky tours in the area stop by here and talk about the graves if you wanted to pay for that experience).
