Cool history and a look into the past since not many of these home are still around, not self guided and short. Worth the money but have more things planned. It only takes 20 min.

Incredible look at one of the main homes that was used as part of the Salem Witch trials in addition to understanding life for the early settlers of this area

We toured the house in mid-May. Nothing very exciting. Just lots of pictures etc. The most interesting thing to me were the witch cakes.
To me, if you have limited time in Salem, you can make better use of it with other attractions.

I found this house to be so fascinating. I loved how there were many different rooms to go in and out of, and descriptions of everything. It was a self guided tour. I took off one star because there was no public restroom which I think is silly if you are a paying customer you should have access to a restroom during your visit.

I have always wanted to visit the Witch House and I was definitely left feeling satisfied. The outside of the house was perfect for pictures. Inside the gift shop was small but amazing. So much history here. I enjoyed reading everything and learning about how everyone in the house lived as well as the rest of the community. I also learned more about the Salem Witch Trials as Corwin was one of the judges when the hysteria started. Be sure not to touch any of the furniture, however. Keep your hands in your pockets folks because the furniture is very well preserved and they definitely take pride in that. My hub accidentally put his hand on one of the side tables and the lady made sure to tell him that was a no-no quick and he wasn't even thinking about it so just be aware :)

Loved going thru the home and seeing all the original features such as the huge fireplaces and rough ceiling beams. You even get to go upstairs and see most of the house. Gives you a feel of life back in the day. Love seeing our history preserved.

Great self guided visit, very informative. A perfect way to spend a half hour on our first day. From there you can walk along Essex St to all kind of places.

If your going during the October months. Please buy tickets online before. Don’t miss out. Don’t show up late. You are unable to take pics inside but it’s still fun. You can spend a good 40 mins inside. If your looking to get pics. I’d go on their off hours. As they ask you don’t stand in the walk way. The stairs inside are steep an narrow. So best carry the little ones. Stroller parking around back by exit door! Have fun.

Do you have to pay for a tour to look around the outside of the house?

You can walk around the house, take pictures etc. without charge. The tour itself is interesting, self guided. If you like old houses it could be worthwhile.
Are there all inclusive packages for Halloween?
