For the last thirty years, I've used this every year or two. First, for my paper on lunar mapping in the 17C, which Archibald MacLeish called "better than academic." See my Harvard Astrophysics talk: google "Giordano BrunoHarvard video."

The John Hay Library at Brown University is the second oldest library on the campus. The building is as impressive as the collection it holds.

We did enjoy the military toy soldiers displayed on the top floor. Surprisingly. But the elevator wasn't working, we couldn't see the stacks. The librarians weren't very interested in helping us.

This is an excellent library to visit. When you do, check out the new reading room. It is amazing. They usually have different historical exhibits. Enjoy your visit.

After reading the new Biography by John Taliaferro (an excellent biography) I wanted to see the Sargeant painting located in the library. Be aware the library is being renovated for 9 months.

John Hay Library has incredible collections and the helpful and welcoming librarians make it a pleasure to visit. There is a small display case in the lobby with a rotating exhibit for casual visitors (i.e., not there on a research visit) to enjoy.
