We spied this place near a restaurant we visited. The kids insisted we check it out. It is a neat garden with each species labeled as you walk the path. If I were a local I'm sure I'd hang out here with coffee and a book.

This is a small but lush garden of local flowers and plants, done in memory of Mrs. Walsh, the founder's grandmother, I believe. Although we passed it the first time, we were glad we went back. No admission fee, a very peaceful place and names and descriptions of all the plants. The sculpture near the waterfall is kind of surprising as it's life-size and looks very natural in its place. A lot of love went into the creation of this attraction.

We saw a brochure for this garden in our campground, (and there is a geocache there) so we went to find it. We looked and looked over days and couldn't find the garden! When we finally saw it, the gate was inconspicuous and the trees were overgrown so it kind of looked hidden. It is across the street from Tregent Park and there are places to park right next to the gate. When we went inside, no one was there and it looked quiet and overgrown. There were little signs everywhere saying what the different flowers, plants, and herbs were, and there were walking paths, and a pond with a waterfall and a statue of a boy reading next to the water. The inside of the garden felt very peaceful and I wondered if it is overgrown from lack of funds or care. I wish more people would go there so they can bring it more to life, but it is a lovely haven to sit in and look at the water

This is a very nice quiet spot BUT the picture here is misleading. There is no stream in Mrs. Walsh's Garden! Only a nice path, lots of plantings and flowers. If you are wanting a place for the kids to be safely in water, this is not it.

This free attraction is a great place to read, meditate, take some photo's or just plain relax. Located at the West end of Elkhorn Avenue the garden was created by Judy to be a tribute to her family for all who come to Estes Park. The beautifully landscaped garden with bronze statues and benches to relax and rest. You can't beat the price or the experience.

This little garden and it's flowers and sculpture can be part of your walk from the Big Horn restaurant to downtown Estes. You'll want to take pictures. It's a lovely and fitting memorial to an apparently good person.

This little garden on the west end of town is a quiet oasis where you can wander, enjoy the plants and sit on a bench and recover from the tourist town. Open from dawn to dusk and free.

Based upon the 3 reviews, we purposefully sought out the garden. Turns out it is actually directly across the street from Glass Works, just a bit north of town. You can park at Glass Works and just cross the street.
Even though the garden is currently closed, due to "safety reasons" (or, so says a sign on the gate), you can still view it through the fence. And, on the sign on the gate there is a phone number you can call to arrange a tour (sorry that we did not write the number down for you).
Anyway, I'm hopeful that the garden will be opened and refreshed. It would be a lovely star in the crown of Estes Park.

This is indeed a hidden gem in otherwise frantic downtown EP. The well labeled botanical specimens and solitude were terrific and a well deserved break from the maddening crowds. It seems a bit forlorn and unattended so may be low on operating funds. The fountain was not running, and had not been in a while. They did not have a collection box, but they should! We would have donated to maintain this oasis. Let yourself in through the iron gates and enjoy!

The garden is small, but has many native plants! I live in CO and didn’t realize that so many varieties would grow here. The walkway around the plants is part of the serenity of this garden!

Are there picnic tables? If not, where is a good picnic spot in Estes/RMNP?
Written 2 September 2017
There are no picnic tables in this area. There is however, a park right across the street and another right downtown Estes that has picnic tables. As far as Rocky Mountain, there are many areas with picnic tables. Enjoy!!
