THE MUSEUM WILL BE CLOSED JAN 4-MARCH 31, 2016 DUE TO CONSTRUCTION. PLEASE CHECK OUR WEBSITE FOR UPDATES. The National Museum of the Marine Corps is a lasting tribute to U.S. Marines--past, present, and future. Situated on a 135-acre site adjacent to Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, and under the command of Marine Corps University, the Museum's soaring design evokes the image of the flag-raisers of Iwo Jima and beckons visitors to this 120,000-square-foot structure. World-class interactive exhibits using the most innovative technology surround visitors with irreplaceable artifacts and immerse them in the sights and sounds of Marines in action. Admission and parking are always free.

Best Museum around.

This is the place for US Marine History. Probably the only museum you can get a beer in too. Make sure to visit Tun Tavern on the second floor.

This is a spectacular museum in a beautiful setting. Much thought, research, art and craftsmanship went into the building and the planning of the displays. The goal of the US Marine Corps is to present the history of the Corps. Thousands of Marines and families of Marines, along with many others, have donated to the creation of this museum.Today there... More

This museum is beautiful and so very comprehensive - we spent many enjoyable hours here! We also experienced a terrific bonus in viewing a military retirement ceremony that was poignant and powerfully patriotic. Highly recommend!

My husband is a retired marine, so the National Museum of the Marine Corps was a must see on our visit to the DC area. This museum did not disappoint. I really enjoyed the first exhibit where it takes you through what those first days are like for new recruits and then on to what it takes to become a... More

Can't go wrong with visiting and paying respects to those that served and learn a bit of our American history. This museum is exceptional and provides a nicely laid out walk-through for everyone's enjoyment.

I thought I would NEVER get out of this place. A tour book said to allow four hours for this museum. We were certain that had to be a misprint. It wasn't. What we thought would be a quick stop on the way home from DC for our 15-year-old turned into a visit that lasted for HOURS. While HOURS of... More

We really enjoyed this museum. Introduction movie was moving. Museum exhibits took you through the history of the marines by battle/war. Very well done and meaningful. Building and grounds are beautiful, clean, perfect. Increases your appreciation of those who are serving or have served in our military even more! Thank you!

I took my grandchildren to see the museum. They enjoyed it and I really had a good time explaining things to them. The docent at the Iow Jima display did a marvelous job of explaining the raising the flag. AS an interesting side note, I went into the Viet Nam display but I had to rush out as it brought... More

This memorial is amazing to see in person. The tribute to the Marine Corps in the Pacific and all the other action they have seen is depicted here. This is a stunning memorial to the Marine Corps.
