Unless you are gun-ho Marine Corps or soldiering and enjoy boring pictures of various battles and machines, I would not bother wit this museum. This is a small building with various displays - all fairly dark and labeled in the most uninteresting manner possible. We visited this as the last stop of a whirlwind tour too see all the major... To truly appreciate everything, plan on spending an entire day. The attention to detail for the dioramas and exhibits is beyond compare. The grounds around the museum are worth spending time as well. There are various trails and monuments scattered throughout the surrounding area. All in all, it's something every Marine or individual interested in the Marines must see.

Awesome, historical- and I'm an Army guy. New exhibits opening soon for post Vietnam conflicts. This is well worth the effort to see.

This museum is so very well put together. The caretakers I spoke with were veterans and were able to tell me first hand about what I was seeing on display. The different war zones were really dramatic and although they could never possibly allow one to know what it's like to be in war, they did help to convey the... More

To see the history and the sacrifice of those who have protected us for over 200 years and the equipment, weapons and vehicles they used is amazing. The actual flag flown for 37 days over Iwo Jima is encased and they have someone right there to tell the whole story. A MUST DO!

Love this museum. It is great to learn about the military and they have a lot of great exhibits. I've been back a few times since the reopening in April, and I've always found something new each time. It's a great stop!

We were on our way to Gettysburg and on recommendation stopped off at the National Museum of the Marine Corps. So glad we did. It opened in 2006 and is simply spectacular. The exhibits are authentic and realistic and with the captions and films make history live. The military history is inter-woven with world history. The rooms depicting WW! &... More

I had the unique opportunity of taking my husband's uncle to the National Museum of the Marine Corps, and I think I was the winner. This museum opened November 13th, 2006., and is intended to offer the public a chance to see what goes in to the making of a marine. I was advised that, due to the Marines being... More
