Explora is an innovative learning place, part science center, part children's museum, providing fun, truly hands-on activities in science, technology, and art for people of all ages, from toddlers to teens to adults. We have an early childhood learning area, including a special area for toddlers to explore, and children and adults enjoy not only our two main floors of exhibit activities, but our outdoor decks with views, giant building blocks, playground patio, and gift shop filled with entertaining and educational items great for at home or travel fun. We offer after-school, home school, and early childhood classes, plus winter, spring, and summer camps for kids. Located in Albuquerque's historic Old Town, Explora has free parking and is perfectly situated for a walk to the nearby park, shops, and restaurants.

We close Jan 1, July 4, the week after labor day, Thanksgiving, Dec. 25.

We close early at 2pm Dec. 24 & 31.

Explora!

Explora is the coolest place for kids. Everything is interactive and super fun. They also have adult nights (with wine) so that the big kids can enjoy everything too!

This may be considered a children's museum but it's a blast for adults too! So many hands-on experiments. So much to do, you can't do it all in one day. Look for Adults Only nights to get more hands-on time ;)

Enjoyed the engaging exhibits with two of our grandchildren. Offers a venue to explain science and some engineering to them using many of exhibits. Can spend hours there and it is often well attended with some waiting for the popular exhibits like the airplane flight controls and bicycle high wire.

I children of various ages and ALL enjoyed it. We did too! We have been there twice now and still don't feel like we enjoyed all of it. We did notice that some things change too, so it was worth both trips too.

Not just for kids, this every changing smorgasbord of mind expanding exhibits, interactive experiments and more is for everyone. Prepare to spend many hours getting lost in the maze of activities.

My favorite exhibit is the neverending ball maze! I always spend my first half hour at the museum watching them go around. There are a few stations where you can hold back the balls or change their route. If you can fight off the kids you might get a chance to push the button. There are little wooden stools to... More

This is a great place for children of all ages. There are many interactive displays. If you have no children to share the experience with, I highly recommend the monthly adult only night.
