Central Avenue, especially the Nob Hill portion, is not to be missed during your ABQ visit. The architecture, signage, and cultural aspects are completely unique. You'll find great restaurants and bars, antiques and artifacts, boutiques and bargains. Our favorite restaurant on Central is Yanni's, with outstanding Greek food, plus creative American and Italian dishes, excellent desserts and a fine full... More

Albuquerque is a beautiful city until you get to Central Avenue SE, so many hookers and homeless panhandlers. City does nothing to rid their streets of either.

The restaurant is excellent. We were seated immediately in the outside patio area which was beautiful with flowers. The service staff waited on us as soon as we were seated with our beverage order. Our breakfast order was perfect and delicious. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served throughout the day. The service is excellent, the food was wonderful and well... More

Central Ave in Albuquerque combines remnants of classic '40's and '50's style with urban decay and despair. The old buildings, such as the Hiland Theater, show their art deco roots, and classic motel signs stand guard over the decrepit, sleazy, old establishments lining the Avenue and renting their rooms by the hour. Many of the motels are being demolished, but... More

Unfortunately during this visit, this main thoroughfare had traffic jams due to repairing and construction. The normal street signs were no longer there and this made it difficult to know which streets you were crossing or coming too while travelling on Central Avenue.

I did not get much of a chance to see "Route 66" as I was switching lanes and dodging construction barrels. The whole route through town is being redone.

There are 100s of businesses on Central Ave. , The road must be 17 miles long ? not sure. There are many places to eat , you can hear live music, see art, and stroll . Parking is not always easy .

If you want to go where the action is most any night of the week, it is here, on Central Avenue in the heart of downtown. There are are, restaurants, music venues, food trucks, and, yes, a number of panhandlers. But don't let that put you off - this is a great city street! A must walk while in ABQ.

Entire once picturesque route is presently being torn up to accommodate a rapid transit bus service, reducing car travel to single lanes; But the drive is worth it if you want to say you were on the original Route 66 traveling east or west!

This is the worst avenue in the city ever... it is a bit nice near the university, and downtown, but throughout the rest of the city, I would not advise anyone to walk there. There are always police cars, bad areas, etc.
