Incredible!

Stunning views, you can walk down in to the canyon and the view is even more spectacular. There's a bit of a climb back up though.

If you've been to the Badlands, or just finished all the UT national parks, this place is really underwhelming. We enjoyed the walk, some petrified wood--one you see one, you're good. Kids did the jr ranger packets and completed a lot of it on this walk. This and one of the walks near the visitors center to see the larger... More

What an incredible walking experience. I overheard someone say to look at something like this and be able to walk in and around on the trail may sound funny but felt like you were on a different planet. This was AMAZING!!!!

There are not a lot of established trails in Petrified Forest National Park - this being one of the main ones, it is all paved. It takes away the naturalness of the area a bit - that is the only reason I give the trail 4 instead of 5 stars. I did really like the hike. It is steep getting... More

This offers some spectacular panoramas of the Painted Desert. Don't miss this. There is a trail that you can walk as well, but due to the cold and wind we chose to forgo the experience in favour of the warm car.

I literally gasped when we saw the Badlands, what a magical site, every step is worth a photo, we felt we were in the moon, so unique and extraordinary. DON'T MISS IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a 3.5 mile drive on a paved road off the main trail, & it's a must see. The rock formations & colors are otherworldly. Lots of photo opportunities.

You can drive a loop here, but trust me when I say you cannot appreciate this beautiful place unless you submerse yourself in it. It was by far the highlight of our visit.

...sorry! Not wishing to trivialise a stunning sight in the Petrified Forest, I must quickly add this is one of several amazing places within the Painted Desert/PF nat park. One ticket - 2 parks in 1 - with miles of scenic driving!
