Thank you for your visiting our Park and sharing your thoughts! We are more than a Civil War Museum. We have demonstration gardening, slave quarters, historic homes, barns with farm animals and mile of trails with earthworks. There really is something here for everyone.

Thank you for the kind words! We focus on the ordinary soldier and tell the story of the everyday people impacted by the Civil War. Our historical interpreters provide a modern context for visitors and especially children which brings history alive.

We visited 5/20/17 an were really impressed with the museum and historical trails/buildings. Not only was it very informative but we were able to hike for 4-5 miles and get our exercise for the day exploring The Main Loop and the Headwaters Trail.

We're glad that you enjoyed the Park! As you mentioned, we have about fives miles of our own trails and more leading into the NPS Petersburg National Battlefield. You could take in the whole day just exploring the trails of the Petersburg Campaign.
