I would have loved to see more of the land, but it's impossible with how difficult the terrain is. It was very interesting and informative.

Was great enjoyed the walk all kinds of sights and history. Pretty walking path, just part of the battlefields in Brownsville to visit but one of the best.

This battlefield is pretty hard to find - it's WAY out of town, and on Texas Highway 4, which is the road ending at Boca Chica Beach - it is NOT the road to Port Isabel and South Padre Island. You have be at the...More

The last battle of the Civil War was fought here after the Civil War was over...it took that long for news to reach this area. There is no visitors center here......just plaques along the road. It's very interesting to read them as you drive along....More

This was a very well done historical stop. The interactive map and the tie in to your AM radio to tell you both the story of the battle and about the surrounding wild life management area were spot on.

The area along the road on the way to the end of the road at Boca Chica Beach is where the last battle of the Civil War took place, with the troops of the Confederacy ironically winning this engagement a month after the surrender of...More
