Free park offering good running/walking paths. Beat the heat; go early. Stay for the historical video - interesting.

Visit when iy is cool. You can do car or walking. Close to town. Visit the old Fort Brown just a few miles away. It is campus of UTRGV aand Texas Southmost College.

Excellent story boards distributed throughout battlefield explaining who won and why. Very little shade but a paved road partly into battlefield shortens walking distance, especially appreciated on hot days.
