This is one of the nices beaches in North Padre. We visited a year ago and decided to come back to the exact same spot this year with our entire family. The only issue is that folks did not obey the pet rules and had...More

Nice facility and educational program for the entire family; however, a better job should be made to clean all the trash that drifts on the beach. Seaweed is natural; a nursery and habitat for many sea creatures. However; there are fishing lines, ropes, all kind...More

This was our second time to Malaquite beach. The beach had quite a bit of seaweed this time, but was clear in the areas where you camp or swim. We enjoyed our experience. Only 15-20 people ever swimming at a time. Super chill beach, great...More

No development so you can just be together. No cell service for us so kids just chilled and played. Take a lunch, tables available. Nice but small visitors center and good interpretation signage. Places to bath and change, lots of parking. Staff really nice. Storm...More

This was a good place to go to the beach. The area was very clean, and they have a nice visitor center, shop. There are also showers to help get rid of the sand. There are quite a few shaded shelters and picnic tables for...More

This is one of the cleanest beaches I have been to on the Gulf Coast. My husband and I like to walk around and pick up trash that is left behind either by other people or trash that has drifted ashore. The visitor center is...More

We thoroughly enjoyed visiting the national seashore. The senior pass from the National Parks administration worked beautifully. The free birding tour was very interesting.

The visitor center had very good information about the beaches and surrounding areas. If you have kids, make sure you take advantage of the Junior Ranger programs/books. Just ask any of the rangers at the desk, and they will be more than happy to help...More

Is this a good beach to take small children to during spring break? If not where is a good place and what beach area do we need to avoid?

Certainly...really nice natural beach with facilities. The visitor center is small but very interesting! I would think most spring breakers would avoid this beach because it is not free and they patrol it constantly!
