We took a drive over to Malaquite beach in October to see if there had been any damage from Hurricane Harvey. We had been there a few years ago and the good news is that everything seems to be as it was. The place was...More

Has shower facilities and covered deck at park facility for sitting and eating. Small store for forgotten necessities or cold drinks. Beach goes for 80 miles, but don't get caught at south end when high tide comes in as the beach narrows. Only a mile...More

Well, its a beach. Nothing special but good view and nice visitor center. Worth to visit if you are in the area, don't plan to spend a lot of time there.

Get away from it all by making a relatively short drive from the city. This is one of our favorite places.

The primitive campsites at PINS Malaquite Beach are very well maintained, and there is enough variety of sites that a tent is not drowned out by RVs and boat rigs. The showers were spacious and toilets were in good condition. The shore is a close...More

We were totally alone with the waves and the birds. It was about 20 minutes from the businesses on Padre Island and there was nothing there to eat. So we brought a picnic lunch and it was perfect.

They have a small museum which is excellent to see it explain the history of the area. I enjoy talking to the Park Rangers. They are very friendly and have a good knowledge of the area and are very helpful in directing you to the...More

Beach here was great! Not too crowded and had nice shade structures. There is a hub that has showers, bathrooms, a board walk down to the beach and a gift shop/information center. These facilities are well maintained and clean. The park rangers were very friendly...More

LOVED this beach. Beautiful, clean, and family oriented. Pelicans fly over and fish close to the beach often. I was so impressed, this is probably one of the only beaches I will revisit in the Corpus Area.

Getting onto Malaquite Beach can be a challenge. Getting your equipment over the sand dune is tough. But once you're planted, it's beautiful. Not loaded with beachgoers. Lots of pelicans flying in formation above you. Nice, clean sand without too many shells. Malaquite has a...More

Certainly...really nice natural beach with facilities. The visitor center is small but very interesting! I would think most spring breakers would avoid this beach because it is not free and they patrol it constantly!
