Discover the amazing underwater world of the Texas State Aquarium!...

Discover the amazing underwater world of the Texas State Aquarium! Thousands of animals representing over 320 different species are ready to enchant, entertain, and inspire you. Corpus Christi's most popular cultural attraction has welcomed over 12 million visitors since its grand opening in July 1990. Conveniently located on North Beach, the Texas State Aquarium is just minutes from Corpus Christi's downtown district, convention center complex, and museums. The Texas State Aquarium Association is a not-for-profit, educational institution that does not receive any city, state, or federal funding for its operations. Every visit to the Texas State Aquarium is a new and exciting discovery of animals that remind us all of our responsibility to those whose world we share. The Aquarium's Second Chances Wildlife Rehabilitation Program is federally permitted and operates under rigorous standards established by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). Each year, thousands of protected, endangered or threatened species along the Texas coast become ill or injured. Most are brought to our facility with problems caused directly or indirectly by humans. The goal of the Texas State Aquarium's Second Chances Program is to rehabilitate, and whenever possible, return the animals to their natural environment. The Aquarium is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and is a member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The Aquarium's mission is to engage people with animals, inspire appreciation for our seas, and support wildlife conservation.

Great place to take the kids. Our kids loved it. They have an area where you can buy food and eat while looking at the seagulls and ships. Many things to see there.. Will be stopping by again when we are in the area..

The aquarium is fun for the whole family. Very educational. One exhibit allows you to actually touch a shark. The jelly fish are fascinating! The otters are a blast. You have to pay for parking which was the only downer.

Very interesting but nothing spectacular. You could touch actual stingrays. We didn't get to see the Dolphin show because we had to wait 2 hours to see it and there wasn't that much to see in 2 hours. Very high priced for what you see but the money does go to a good cause.

I really did like this Aquarium, it is worth the visit for sure. The exhibits are very well constructed and it is very inviting. It isn't as big as I thought it would be, but it was nice. The water show was very fun as well. Great gift shop too!

This is a good attraction for families, which is probably the audience the operators are aiming for. There are some interactive exhibits and lots of visuals inside the building. My favorite part was the outdoor dolphin show in a pool next to the building. Just make sure you get there at least 15 minutes before the show starts if you... More

Very nice! We went to most of the shows and all were good, Dolphins were best. There were lots of creatures to touch and interact with. Great for kids!

The short review: friendly staff, happy animals, clean environments. Well worth the price! Visited on a weekday morning during the off season and nearly had the place to ourselves! Price is a bit steep ($20/adult + $5 parking) but coupons are easily found and it's still worth it without them. Lots of hands-on exhibits (stingrays, sharks, starfish, etc.) for the... More

If you have never been to one of the big aquariums like at Disney or some of the large cities then this Aquarium will be great. It is very nice with live dolphin shows. It is just not huge like some of the others around the country. Still its a nice day trip.
