Discover the amazing underwater world of the Texas State Aquarium!...

Discover the amazing underwater world of the Texas State Aquarium! Thousands of animals representing over 320 different species are ready to enchant, entertain, and inspire you. Corpus Christi's most popular cultural attraction has welcomed over 12 million visitors since its grand opening in July 1990. Conveniently located on North Beach, the Texas State Aquarium is just minutes from Corpus Christi's downtown district, convention center complex, and museums. The Texas State Aquarium Association is a not-for-profit, educational institution that does not receive any city, state, or federal funding for its operations. Every visit to the Texas State Aquarium is a new and exciting discovery of animals that remind us all of our responsibility to those whose world we share. The Aquarium's Second Chances Wildlife Rehabilitation Program is federally permitted and operates under rigorous standards established by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). Each year, thousands of protected, endangered or threatened species along the Texas coast become ill or injured. Most are brought to our facility with problems caused directly or indirectly by humans. The goal of the Texas State Aquarium's Second Chances Program is to rehabilitate, and whenever possible, return the animals to their natural environment. The Aquarium is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and is a member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The Aquarium's mission is to engage people with animals, inspire appreciation for our seas, and support wildlife conservation.

Was really looking forward to seeing all of the bioluminescent jellyfish again, where did they all go? Seemed smaller and WAY more expensive, close to $70 for a family of three and the car. Yes, $5 to park your car. Made it through the main exhibit in under 30 minutes, now what? Loved all of the different Gulf Coast fish... More

We're sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your visit and the lack of jellyfish. We are in the process of replacing our "Floating Phantoms" exhibit with a new one, "Tentacles", that will include both several species of jellies and cephalopods such as cuttlefish, nautilus, and a Great Pacific octopus. Unfortunately, you just missed the first phase with several... More

The aquarium is a great place to take the kids. About half of the exhibits are indoor so your not out in the heat for an extended time. There is also a small splash water park for small children so bring swim clothes and a towel. There is a family learning center with activities for young children. There are several... More

The aquarium is very nice. Get to see a wide variety of fish from the Gulf of Mexico. There is touch tanks for sting rays, sharks, starfish, and etc. There is huge tank for dolphins that you can see above and under water. Plus they have a demonstration. There is also a otter display and sea turtle display. Nice childrens... More

Went here because I love ocean life and I was not disappointed!! They are actually in the process of making it bigger too. There are so many touching tanks it's really great for kids and adults. Dolphin shows, shark touching tank, shark tank, jellyfish tanks, lionfish, sea turtles, gator.....too much to list. I drove 2.5 hours to see this and... More

This aquarium had much more that your typical aquarium does. There were otters, an alligator, a splash park for the kids, two different observation areas, so many different types of fish, but the dolphins were the wow factor. They had two dolphins. You could view them through glass while they were under water or you could go top side and... More

Our whole family loves anything associated with the sea & were stoked about our visit. Then we got there. For three of us (adult admission) it was just over $75-yikes! Sadly, it just wasn't worth the admission price. They did have beautiful exhibits & interesting information available but not for the asking price. They are adding on so hopefully that... More

Came here today with our two kids, 7 and 8. We paid over $70 for the four of us plus parking. It was a Saturday, so we expected plenty of other families to be there...what we did not anticipate was HUNDREDS of kids on schools trips, ranging from young elementary all the way through high school. The aquarium is small... More

We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your experience. The aquarium tends to be more crowded on weekends, so a weekday visit is likely to be more to your liking. When guests purchase admission in person, they are normally asked if they parked in the Aquarium's lot and, if so, they are sold a parking token at... More

I love the Texas State Aquarium. It started out small, but has added exhibits in the last few years. We are season ticket holders and use them often. A huge expansion is in progress. I hope it will be open soon. The splash/water area for the kids is a plus in the heat of the summer.
