Discover the amazing underwater world of the Texas State Aquarium! Thousands of animals representing over 320 different species are ready to enchant, entertain, and inspire you. Corpus Christi's most popular cultural attraction has welcomed over 12 million visitors since its grand opening in July 1990. Conveniently located on North Beach, the Texas State Aquarium is just minutes from Corpus Christi's downtown district, convention center complex, and museums. The Texas State Aquarium Association is a not-for-profit, educational institution that does not receive any city, state, or federal funding for its operations. Every visit to the Texas State Aquarium is a new and exciting discovery of animals that remind us all of our responsibility to those whose world we share. The Aquarium's Second Chances Wildlife Rehabilitation Program is federally permitted and operates under rigorous standards established by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). Each year, thousands of protected, endangered or threatened species along the Texas coast become ill or injured. Most are brought to our facility with problems caused directly or indirectly by humans. The goal of the Texas State Aquarium's Second Chances Program is to rehabilitate, and whenever possible, return the animals to their natural environment. The Aquarium is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and is a member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The Aquarium's mission is to engage people with animals, inspire appreciation for our seas, and support wildlife conservation.

OK aquarium - seems like the dolphins are the biggest hit - started filling up 1 hour before show time... Other areas are good, but we have been to better aquariums. When they finish the new addition, this will be a great place to visit.

Hello, and thank you for your feedback. With presentations available every half-hour around the Aquarium and more than 3,000 animals representing more than 320 species, we work hard to offer engaging opportunities to our visitors. As you mentioned, in May 2017, we will also be adding Caribbean Journey, which will more than double the total size of the Aquarium and... More

While admission is a bit pricey (about $49 for two senior citizens), this was an excellent activity for a rainy day on the coast of Texas. It's on the small side as aquariums go, but the displays are well done, there are exhibits where you're allowed to touch the sea creatures, and the staff are passionate about educating and informing... The aquarium is nice, but a little underwhelming. The splash pad was the best part of the day. Our one year old had a great time.

Small but nice aquarium. We really enjoyed the exhibits and shows. Probably best for families with young children.

I love this aquarium. We get yearly passes and every time we have family from out of town this is the place we take them. I go once a month just to relax. Love the shows. Food is good and friendly employees. I can't wait for the grand opening in May 2017

Extremely busy during Spring break hard to see exhibits. Prices are high due an aquarium. Location is excellent.

Hello, and thank you for your feedback. Spring Break in Corpus Christi is quite popular, and we see a significant increase in attendance, but we do our best to accommodate all of our guests, including extending our operating hours from 9am-7pm. However, we apologize for any inconvenience resulting from the increase in attendance. We have found that early arrival is... More

Crowded great for a 5 year old. Not to baby friendly. I have a 10 month old. But for a 5 year old it's great. Changing rooms for kids to change and get wet in a water type park area. You can sit and eat while the kids get wet and play in a sand box.

It was cold one day, so we checked out the aquarium. We loved the dolphins and the otters! It was about what we expected, not super deluxe but a fun few hours to spend as a family.

Our 7 year old had a blast and we did too. Sharks, the Otter and the Octopus were our favorites. We ate at the downstairs cafe and it was pretty good. The gift shop is really nice too.

We're so happy to see you had a great time at the Aquarium with your family. Merlin and Ari the otters and Otis the giant Pacific octopus are definitely some of our guest's favorites. It's also great to see you enjoyed your meal at Shoreline Grill and our brand-new gift shop. We hope to welcome you to the Aquarium again... More
