Hotel is ok, they have coffee available 24-7 which is greatly appreciated. The front desk staff were friendly. After going to All 5 floors there seems to be only 1 drink machine in the whole place and its cash only. They don't sell drinks at...More

I've taken my kids here twice in the last 6 weeks. My daughter loves being at Oxen Hill Farm. Oxen Hill is tucked in between 295, 495, and the rest of the Maryland side of the Potomac/Anacostia River. Despite this, the park is quiet and...More

This place is dear to my heart. I remember visiting as a child, taking my children and nieces/nephews there, and now my grandchild. A real working farm where children can learn about farm life, see a sheep shearing and milk a cow.

Right outside Alexandria, Oxen Cove is an adorable little farm with animals that makes a great getaway on the weekend, especially if you have kids. The space isn't particularly expansive, so you probably won't need more than an hour.

This is a fabulous chance for kids (and adults!) to get up close to cows, horses, pigs, and a goat. And it's not crowded at all. There were no sheep or chickens when we went--the chickens recently perished in an unfortunate fox break-in, but will...More

The Oxon Hill Farm is run by the National Park Service and gives young children a change to see how farming was done in the early 1900s. Because there is no admission, it's the perfect place to take youngsters to explore and learn without worrying...More

I took my 1yo so to the farm to see some animals. It was easy to get to (just off the beltway near the WW bridge), parking was plentiful and convenient, and best of all the farm is FREE. Just walk right in. We went...More
