Went to a rehearsal of the choir. It was breathtaking and the mormon tabernacle is spectactular. Very relaxed atmosphere, with no pressure to get involved in any religious issues. The adjacent art gallery is worth a visit.

When in Salt Lake City, you must see the Mormon Tabernacle Choir on Sunday morning! This performance, is something to remember. We attended a rehearsal a couple of years ago, and we're disappointed by the comings and goings of the attendees. It was difficult for...More

We had an opportunity to see the choir during their practice on Thursday night. They were dressed in street clothes which was a bit unusual as you normally see them in costume. We stayed and listened for the entire 1 and 1/2 hours along with...More

Since I visited in the Summer their Sunday recorded show was in the LDS conference center. Very nice space. The organ is unbelievable. The orchestra and choir sounded amazing. I would like to come back to hear one of their Christmas specials.

30 minute live broadcast included a few minutes of an interesting (non-denominational) message and the rest was music by the choir and orchestra. The audience must arrive 15 minutes prior and remain silent during the broadcast. Because it is summer and there are more visitors,...More

Wow, if you are fortunate, you will get to hear the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sing in person. My family's favorite time to hear them is at the annual Christmas Concert! You don't have to be LDS to enjoy this Christmas Concert! Anyone will leave feeling...More

If you can, visit on Thursdays, around 7:00 PM - the choir practices on Thursdays and they also practice the magnificent organ that is located in the Tabernacle. Everyone is welcome to go into the Tabernacle and the other church, nearby - along with the...More

I saw the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in New York at Carnegie Hall recently. What an incredible concert. Sophisticated music-making of the highest skill and taste - everything from Nigerian chant to Christian hymns, Negro spirituals and secular music. Highly recommended.

As a long time fan of the Tabernacle Choir from my younger years (Messiah album is simply one of the best Christmas albums of all time) visiting here during a choral practice was a definite! The building is simply amazing and the sounds that surround...More

Do you know of any guided train tour from Denver to Salt Lake? If I come by train how far away is a hotel that would then be in walking distance to the Tabernacle to go to an organ or choir concert? What hotel is recommended to walk to the Tabernacle? When is the best time of year to visit?

I do not know of any guided tours from Denver to SLC. There are many places to stay in downtown Salt Lake. You might check out Airbnb as there are many of those as well around Temple Square within walking distance. There is... More
