Absolutely stunning murals and stained glass. The calm and serenity of this place is overwhelming. Welcome and open to all, it rejuvenates your feelings of peace and perspective. I highly recommend visiting.

A beautiful piece of old architecture, this church is reminiscent of many old Catholic churches in the US and Europe. The Gothic feel, the high arches, ornate ceiling and amazingly large stained glass was inspiring. It had a very serene feel to it. The baptismal...More

Catholic churches in the US reflect the needs and traditions of the communities in which they're located. This cathedral is old school, with tile floors, straight-back wooden pews, and your feet tough the knees of the person on the kneeler behind you. They even ring...More

This is a huge, beautiful church that everyone should see. It's right downtown in Salt Lake City and easy to find and get to. It's not far from the Mormon Temple.

We attended the Saturday evening mass and then took a self guided tour of the interior. The Cathedral is beautiful. My only complaint is that during mass the organ was too loud and we could not hear the cantor.

Most people come to Salt Lake City and think about the Mormon Church. Few seem to be aware of the role that the Catholic Church had in Utah's early and current history. (Sad!) Visiting the Cathedral of the Madeleine is as close as I will...More

This Catholic Cathedral has beautiful stained glass windows. We were impressed with how well it was kept up. We are not Catholic but found the tour interesting and enjoyed it very much!

Parking is a challenge. As stated in other responses, there is parking in a small lot behind the cathedral, across the street to the south and street parking.
