A Moving Experience!
Sep 2021
Don't miss this experience of reflection and inspiration! An inspiring tribute to our military veterans and an uplifting walk around the grounds. It is a wonderful park for dogs to jump in the water and enjoy swimming after a ball, people to have an invigorating walk and just enjoy each other's company.

Beautiful And Relaxing
Dec 2020
I pass through there on the way up City Creek Canyon. I take raw peanuts as there are squirrels just waiting to be fed. The stream has been frozen over lately and it creates a whole different feel. Do recommend.

Worth Visiting
Sep 2020
The Memory Grove Park is very close to the State Capitol building and there are steps that take you to the park. Very serene and calm place to walk around and enjoy.

Very cute park
Oct 2020
Went for a late afternoon stroll in this park and was delighted by it. Not too crowded, people running/biking/sitting in the lawn and enjoying the sunshine. Has a cute stream running through it with a small pond. Lots of monuments and plaques to read regarding Utah's military history and contributions. The colors of the turning leaves were very nice to look at. We ran into multiple people taking professional pictures throughout the park, including a newly-married couple!

Curious little park possibly with a dark urban legend
Jul 2020 • Business
Interesting little side-adventure...very lovely little park alongside a lively creek/brook. Lush and green area with some memorials.

It seems to be mostly street parking and it was fairly difficult to find any spots at the entrance we were trying to park near so be aware, you may want to visit this park earlier in the day. We were there mid afternoon (around 3-330pm I believe).

There are some interesting ruins inside a little further up the trail...and even some strange pentagrams or something built into the rocks of one of the memorials! Apparently there are some urban legends surrounding the ruins there - called The Witches House - children missing, maybe beings eaten etc...strange happenings back in the late 1800s maybe?

Curious and serene park to take a stroll in if you have time...I believe the trail is about 2 miles long total and an easy walk.

Beautiful, dog friendly park
Jul 2020 • Couples
Enjoyed a wonderful evening walk through this lovely park. Monuments and flower beds need a little TLC, but nice park nonetheless. Creek was flowing, dogs were playing (in the water) and people were enjoying a lovely evening. A walk through Memory Grove is well worth the time.

Hidden Gem of Beauty
Mar 2020
Memory Grove Park was an unexpected surprise and seems to be a best-kept-secret in SLC. Though near the end of winter among bare trees, the park remained splendidly bathed in natural beauty with a delightful stream running through it and lots of inviting trails, as well as wide-open grassy areas where kids and dogs romped. We wandered among the monuments dedicated to fallen soldiers of yore and climbed the very do-able short trail up the ridge to where the capitol grounds adjoin and open out to some of the best views of the SLC area. Nestled in a ravine within the SLC limits, we followed our visit to the park with a who-cares-if-we-get-lost drive among the beautiful residential areas flanking the east ridge of Memory Grove Park, where we encountered yet more incredible views of the SLC area.

Dog paradise
Sep 2019 • Solo
Took my daughters dog . Leashed in the park. Shade water and then you start on the freedom Trail which is unleashed and your dogs can run around and play in the water. Fun for kids to lots of dogs lots of people.
I parked across from the capital and walked down the switchbacks.

Great off leash dog trail
Jul 2019
We walked to this park from the Hyatt House Hotel and it was way too far a hike in the hot sun. The park is beautiful with a creek flowing through it. It's a very lush and peaceful area. There are lots of elegant memorials /monuments around and about the park. There is a trail where dogs are allowed to hike on off leash but they must be on a leash in the other areas of the park although we saw lots of people not following the rule. I guess it's not enforced. Our dog had a blast on the trail. There were several families there having fun together and enjoying picnics. It was a pleasant place to spend time at.
