Being from San Diego, im a bit of a zoo snob and this little zoo did not disappoint. It's actually a great size if you have small children. The zoo has a carousel, train and play area. There's lots of animals like elephants, giraffe, gorillas,...More

Small zoo. Went on a weekday and had many shops closed. Pretty small and was ok but no great shakes.

About 20 years ago I did not care for the zoo or the tight confinement of some of the animals. Hogle has come a long way. Larger more natural enclosures, childrens petting zoo, an annual art contest and show for the community that uses the...More

A wide variety of animals to see from many parts of the world. Closest I have ever been to a giraffe - about 2 metres. A great way to spend a few hours and even a train ride if walking around it not you thing.

Compared to other larger-city zoos, Hogle is relatively small. However it is clean, well kept and the animals always seem to be happy and in good health. Admission is pretty pricey for what you get. You can see the entire zoo in under three hours....More

Lots of animals and shows! Great food and gift shops. We went in July, hot hot! They have water misters everywhere. Even a water play park for the kids. They will have wet clothes. They handed out water bottles and cold water all day long...More

Our grandson (11) had never been to a zoo, so what a treat! He loved everything, but the unexpected highlight was the bird show! Raptors flew right over the heads of spectators below us. If I had known, we would have sat lower down, and...More

I'd agree with Carrie D. on the rolling paths. I suspect you can see most of the critters on the flattest parts of the zoo, though. I'd contact the zoo directly, if you're thinking of trying to reserve a cart and ask the... More
