Do you want to learn a little background about the pioneers who settled the valley in hopes of religious freedom? The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints History Library is a great place to look at all of the roots of the Church.

Spent day there 3-11-2017 and used mostly the reading room (which you have to watch a video and register to use). Innumerable journals, maps, directories, etc., to learn about Mormon and family history.

This definitely promotes the church's version of history, but it's a very good museum with great artifacts and interactive exhibits. I recommend an 45-60 minutes to go through it if you want to read everything.

I read a review by Maggi H on TripAdvisor, and it was really negative. Since I live just north of Salt Lake City, and my kids were out of school for the day, I decided to check it out for myself. I'm not quite sure what Maggi H was talking about. The museum was free to enter. Yes, it has... More

The renovations are great! What an improvement. The volunteers are great to talk to. Activities for the young and old.

This museum is a great way to spend the day, there are so many inactive exhibits for young and old. The 6 minute movie about the first vision was amazing, the panoramic screen makes you feel like you there in real time. So many interesting things to see and do. The staff are enthusiastic and helpful.

Our biggest problem was we only had two hours to spend there. My kids favorite part was the new movie of the First Vision. Then we spread out and spent time where we each wanted to go. I'll have to go back when I have more time.

Went across the street from Temple Square to the Church History Museum. I had heard the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints had made some changes in the building and was intrigued to see what they were. I first noticed how clean and professional the new interactive displays are. Also, the new 6 minute panoramic first vision movie of... More

I was surprised that for the size of the building there was only a section worth of history. Lots of interactive activities for children, though.

The LDS Church History Museum is a great place to visit when visiting Temple Square in SLC, Utah. Lots of displays and history about the church.
