Fantastic place and you will get the best help to trace your ancestors. The new Discovery center which is still in the development will be a hit with both old and young.

The LDS volunteers are very helpful here, especially if you are just getting started on researching your family. My husband and I each had our own volunteer. These ladies stayed with us as long as we needed them to, and there was no pressure from missionaries. They simply asked us if we were LDS, and we said no. That was... More

The staff were so helpful and patient. Everyone got their own computer and someone to help you get started or stay with you to help. They truly want to help. You can do research or set up an account, which I strongly recommend. You can sign in when you get home and keep going. If you only do one thing... More

A great resource for beginning or expanding on family genealogy. Very helpful and friendly staff - and it's basically free (except a nominal charge for printing)

When you walk in immediately you are approached by one of the staff members to help you find your way. The friendliness of the people is amazing. I felt very welcome and got a good explanation of how everything works. You have to do the research yourself, but they show you how it works, step by step to get insight... More

Largest family history library in the world! Find who you are related to! Many volunteers to cheerfully help! You can trace your family tree if you have birth, death and marriage dates. The more information you bring to the library, the more you can find out!

We perished the section for where we grew up and had little trouble finding it. Books were available on death records, marriage records, etc by county, but not for all counties. The more populated the county, the better the records. We did not intend to do serious research and this is the intent of this library.
