My daughter and I visited the FHC in Salt Lake City for three days mid week. It was my fourth visit and my daughters first trip. The staff was outstanding and the research assistance was readily available and very knowledgeable. The layout of the library made it easy to find the records that we wanted to search. A visit to... I used to work just a few blocks form the FHL, so spent multitudes of hours there after work for days on end. I found SO much information about my family history! The people who work there are extremely friendly and friendly. Very worth your time for a visit - even if only for a quick computer check on your... More

Amazing place to visit. Plan on staying at least a full day or more. If you like family history you won't be disappointed. There is so much here! It's within walking distance of other historical sites and restaurants.

Wasn't too sure what to expect but found the visit and what I discovered to be amazing. I've never done any detailed investigation into my genealogy but 2 hours went by in a flash. I also found out I'm related to the Hatfield family. Highly recommend you budget 3-5 hours and take full advantage of the staff, who were extremely... More

Great experience!! You do not need to know anything about your genealogy or family history and the systems there will find your ancestors, who you are related to and even find famous people that you are related to. You will love it. The greeters and assistants are friendly and helpful. There is no cost to the visitors even if you... More

Initially I was annoyed that you are surrounded with help the moment you walk in, however, I later found the help to be the best part of my experience. They walk you through the process of anything you want to try or do. Cool place. If you want to look things up... leave a lot of time 2+ hours minimum.

The LDS Family History Library is hands down the best genealogy resource in the world. You don't have to be a member of the LDS Church to visit and use the library. You don't even have to be computer literate. There are plenty of people there who are willing and eager to hold your hand and walk you through the... More

Ive lived in Utah most my life. Ive walked by the Family History Room so many times and felt a little intimidated by the whole process. Until my husband took the family in. So many volunteers to help out. I actually found a couple more ancestors to fill in my family tree. My girls loved the green screen to take... More
