We loved the hiking out of Hurricane ridge visitor center. They have short walks, or long ones. The views of the Olympic mountains are spectacular. And there are deer everywhere . To hike this area, it's not far out of the city of Port Angeles,...More

Great views, really helpful staff and some interesting walks but so full of bugs that we cut our visit short.

The Rangers helped us plan our week for exploring and seeing the sights. Warned us about the road closing from 9-1 every day so we could get an early start. That saved a lot of aggravation.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

It was late in the day when I visited Hurricane Ridge. It was still spectacular to say the least. Driving up to Hurricane Ridge is a picture around every turn. The sun setting on the mountains offered different aspects of color making for great pictures.

We made an afternoon stop after visiting Hurricane Ridge (which is great). The rangers were very friendly and provided us with some thoughts on food in Port Angeles. They also showed us around to some activities for our pre-schooler. Our planned 15 minute stopped turned...More

We visited the temporary building. Nothing exciting to look at, but the women working there were super helpful! We were disappointed because the road to hurricane ridge was closed and trying to figure out what else to do. She spent 10 minutes with us showing...More

The Visitor Center itself was closed for remodeling, but the Park is spectacular. Hurricane Ridge was socked in, which is not unusual, but the drive there is worth the effort. The Olympic Mountains are overlooked by many, but they certainly shouldn't be.

Spend some time there after visiting the upper deck viewing and the back side patio. It is cold there.

They are in a temporary building. The rangers and staff were very friendly. The are very knowledgeable of the Olympic National Park and weather conditions. I would advise stopping by the visitor center before embarking on your journey.

There's a small shopping center Forks Outfitters on the south side of Forks that might let you stay there. There's also an RV park the Forks 101 RV Park which is across 101 from the outfitters on a side street.
