It seems the visitor center staff are friendly when they want to be and downright unfriendly when they don’t want to be. We walked in and they did not acknowledge us. I said hello and they didn’t respond (they stared at me blankly). One person asked what are you looking for and I responded just looking and the person’s response was well there’s lots to look at. My mother tried to chat them up (she said her daughter (me) just moved here, the rest of them were just visiting) and the first question they asked was does she have a job. I think the question came up again and my mother told them she’s not looking right now. It was probably the most unfriendly experience I’ve had since moving to town and disappointing to know that some guests are treated this way at the place where folks are supposed to be welcomed.

After a few minutes looking at different brochures, another group came in, were greeted by the staff and the staff were more than happy to chat them up. I can’t say it’s a race thing because I asked my husband to go in and check it out. He did and he got the same treatment (basically ignored). He wanted to buy some postcards which were super cute, but the guy at the desk was too busy chatting up someone else up. Husband waited five minutes and just left.

Not a good first impression for anyone visiting a new town.

the staff was helpful and very verbose in giving feedback on the area. .the map of the downtown area could have been more helpful in a listing of downtown restaurant and shopping as opposed to the "senior center"

You should go here first to find out what trails are opened and closed sometimes this changes daily. They cover most all of the park and have the information. Then travel up to hurricane ridge.

I enjoyed my brief visit to the Port Angeles Visitor Center. A friendly staff member, who didn't have the information I was seeking, actually looked up a phone number for me, so I could talk directly with a person she knew had the details I needed. There were lots of brochures and helpful information about Port Angeles/Olympic Peninsula available.

The visitor Center was our first stop on a summer road trip around the Olympic Peninsula. The staff, I think they were volunteers from the community, were so friendly helpful. We left with maps and some very welcome advice on the sights to see, particularly with young children. What a great service!

We stopped in while waiting for our ferry ride. The woman inside was extremely friendly and helpful. There is a lot of information on the area and what to do if staying here or nearby. There were some vintage postcards there for purchase which were interesting and they do have postcard stamps for sale and a mailbox which is helpful.

After eating on the pier we were walking the shops and found the visitors center. They had a good selection of brochures that were nicely arranged and were very helpful.
