We went late in the day so the park was very quiet! But it was beautiful and a great place to relax and chill. There are a bunch of little play areas for kids and adults can have a great time with water-related activities.

We live here in Macon. We love walking here but remember that you are in Macon ga . There have multiple cars broken into. Shootings happen every other day. Keep your head on a swivel and if you are a women don't walk alone.

The Address 2551 Pierce is wrong the correct one is 2600 Riverview Rd. If interested in Floating the river the people @ $10 River Tube located on the south end of the park is the way to go. park in front of the shop ride the bus up to the north end then float down getting out @ the south end of the park. lots of history there the Creek Indians had s villiage there on the property back in the 1930s. $ 10 River Tube is open from Memorial day weekend - the last of Sept. every day except Tuesday. if you decide to float on your own please be aware of where the exit is. once you get to the Palvillion you will be 200 FT from the exit. there is a sign on it letting you know the last exit for the park is 200ft. if u mess it the next exit is spring st. so please be aware & pay attention.

First time at this beautiful park. Got a good walk in with a friend (both early 20s) and started walking back to the car only to find an empty playground. We played on the swings for a few minutes before leaving. On our way out, we were stopped by a ranger. He informed us that the park was closed. We apologized, but he continued to chastise us. He said that this happens all the time and was frustrated because people should know what the hours are. We apologized again (X10) for our mistake and for wasting his time. He continued his fit for another 5 minutes by claiming that we (and all millennials) are irresponsible and need to toughen up because the world is hard. Listen, I get it. We screwed up. We're sorry. We know now. It won't happen again. But here's the thing-- if you're having this problem a lot, your methods of informing the public aren't working. I'm not a Macon local, don't watch the local news and truly didn't see the dark brown, blended signs. Step up your game and get a prettier attitude. Not sure that I'll go back to this park.

Macon's newest park is a place you must check out for family fun! They have really done a great job with the improvements they have made and are continuing to make. A large playground for young kids, very nice pavilion with picnic tables, new bathrooms, paved walking trails around the park, and THE RIVER!
Bring an inner tube or kayak and plan on some fun! There are 2 places to put in the river for a float around the peninsula park. The first is down a gravel road on the left when you enter the park . There is a parking lot and easy river access. The second river entry is at the large paved parking lot on the left. You follow the sidewalk to the right, go down the steps, and enter the water. There is also a rock that people were jumping off. (Definitely check water depths before jumping). The current of the river was moderate to strong, and depths ranged from about 3ft to over 6ft. There are a couple of little sand beaches to stop at and 2 rope swings about half way around the bend. When you see the power lines and overlook pavilion (white tent) on the right, you need to start moving to the right side, so you don't miss the exit. You will also see an American flag marking the exit.
With young kids and some playtime at the stops, it took us about 2 hours. I recommend bringing a rope if you need to keep your group together. It's only about .5 mile walk from the second river entrance to the exit, so an easy walk for car drop off. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
Be aware that park hours are Wednesday-Sunday 8am-8pm.

Great park with a ton of room and it's always clean with pic-nic tables and bathrooms. The kids always find other families to interact with and we have never had any issues while visiting and we have been during the week, weekends and all times of the day.

This park is pretty perfect - playground and pavilions for the kiddos, plenty of green space to run/play in, paved trails for walking, dirt trails for exploring, and a nice view of the Ocmulgee River with tube/kayak rentals on site. I've seen people fishing in the pond and river areas, plenty of community activities take place here, and it's located just off I-75.

There is a river tubing outfit at this park. You pay them $10 each and they take you up river a couple miles in an old school bus and give you a tube and life vest to use and you float back to where you started. It is a nice relaxing float and worth every penny.

If you are one of those, who needs to travel a distance for a picnic spot, this is pretty nice spot if you are living in greater atlanta area.
We make a stop over here, for it has nice view, kids play area , neat bath rooms , pretty close to free way on the way to savannah.

Well we came to the 10.00 river tubing and first of all. All of the staff and the owner are very helpful and kind. Well we read all the reviews about people and that the company is doing wrong. Thats a lie they explain everything all the way down to the life vest. We really enjoyed ourselves and i had my youngest child with me and they told me sorry but all kids under the age of 5 is not allowed on the river so my mom stayed back and watched my baby. We are so happy that we came to the 10.00 dollar tubing. Thank you, Ms Kay McCullough we will be coming back..

My suspicion is that although fishing in the pond may be legal, I feel like it may be frowned upon by the many people engaged in park activities. There are usually employees present at a maintenance facility near the playground/ restroom area that can possibly clarify this uncertainty.

I have a small dog, pug. He is allowed in the park and tubing?

I would think so. Macon is mostly pet friendly.

I've never seen signs posted. My husband smokes there although he's always polite in staying away from the play area.
