We spent nearly 2 weeks at Nusa Island retreat which is surrounded by tropical coral reefs and boats and planes from WW2. While there I did a scuba diving course with scuba ventures. Simply one of the best things I have ever done. Dorian the owner and instructor was terrific and made the whole experience easy and fun. Initially he... More

I had a great couple of days diving with Dorian and his team at Scuba Ventures. Dorian knows the area well and will tailor the dives to the skill level and needs of the group. I was lucky enough to do a days diving with just Dorian and got to see the Der Yang wreck. Diving in 30C at 30m... More

Just spent a week with Dorian and his crew, very professional and safety conscious. Knows every dive site and wreck in the Kavieng area like the back of his hand, I was impressed with his immediate Plan B if a site’s current or visibility was iffy. Just the right mix of reefs, wrecks and walls. His dive guide Robert was... More

We had a stellar weeks diving with Scuba Ventures. The variety of sites is one of the key features of this area and the 30C water and great visibility made the experience hard to beat. Boat, equipment and service were top notch and Dorian is good company and a knowledgable dive professional. Particularly appreciated being able to copy his GoPro... More

I had a wonderful time scuba diving in Kavieng, PNG with Dorian and his team. Dorian was very professional, well organised and an insightful guide. There were a range of amazing dive sites to explore (WWII wrecks, drift dives, spectacular coral reefs and diverse fish life) - highlights were a pod of dolphins, spotted eagle rays, turtles, numerous reef sharks, schools... I had a wonderful week of scuba diving in Kavieng, PNG with Dorian and his team. The diving was amazing with such variety of dive sites to choose from (WWII wrecks, drift dives, coral reefs, pods of dolphins, turtles, spotted eagle rays, reef sharks and numerous schools of barracuda and batfish - to name a few) with 40m visibility. I read these reviews and had high expectations but unfortunately I was disappointed. It started with no response to my three emails in the months leading up to our stay at Nusa Island Retreat. As an experienced diver, I still had a good time because I liked the divemaster Robert and it is incredible diving, but with that I have... More

Apologies for the missed communication, I had to travel to South Africa to assist with organizing a passport for our daughter so Cara and Vicki could return to PNG. New laws there require both parents to be present to get passports issued, not the most convenient. Unbeknown to us whilst away most of our emails were blocked by the South... More

We went as a dive club and had 10 of the best dives ever Dorian and his crew were pure professionals carrying all the normal safety equipment and more. Him and his crew had a great knowledge of all the local dive sites and the history surrounding them.

Our experience with Dorian and the crew was limited to a resort dive for our 13 yr old son, but what a great experience. The professionalism, care and attention that he gave our son was very high, and the whole experience has led our son to want to further his studies and experiences in diving. As a Dive Master myself,... More

Had a weeks diving in Kavieng. Dorian and his crew were excellent throughout. Importantly, they carry oxygen and safety equipment. When conditions were not ideal in one site, there was no problem in moving to a more appropriate site. No problems in recommending this dive company.
