We had a tour of the lake but it was just a good outdoor physical exercise than anything else as it was rather boring when you walked for 1 hour+ around the lake just to have a rather similar and monotonous view from different vantage...More

This is an easy walk around the lake and if the weather cooperates, the reflection off the lake is picture perfect. This is a great activity for a family and the parking is easy and convenient.

What a beautiful part of New Zealand!! Lots to see on a sunny day, the lake is like a mirror and the mountains in the background simply amazing.

On a still evening the reflections on the lake were fantastic. The visitor centre and gift shop nearby marked the start of the a lovely woodland walk to the view point.

As expected, it is popular tourist location. We were among busloads of tourists. The walking track is lengthy - so you find moments of solitude, and it’s worth the stretch of legs and beautiful views.

It's mainly a walk through the wood around the lake with a few lookouts dotted around it. It was a cloudy day so not even a glimpse of the mirror image lol

Lovely walk and great seeing the reflections of the the trees and mountains in the lake. So glad we had time to do this walk. Finished the walk with a good coffee and cake at the cafe near the carpark entrance.

Yes the walk from the car park to the jetty is suitable for prams and wheelchairs. There are steps beyond that.
