A wonderful place for a spring visit. Great walks, birdlife and beaches. Will visit again to complete more walks. Stayed at the Council all modes camp. Very basic camp with toilets and drinking water. Nicely sheltered with lots of birdlife around.

This regional park is one of my favourite places. A dreadful road to get to it but the road is currently being upgraded. You can swim at beautiful beaches, walk many tracks for spectacular views, listen to rare birds like bellbirds and stitch birds. See...More

If you are into birds, and being by the sea - either or both are available here. A very well maintained and completely naturally gorgeous spot.

The peninsula offers awesome views, nice walking and biking trails, bird-watching opportunities, great surfing waves, etc. We stayed a night at the campsite (booking needed!) which is very much recommended. In winter time things are relatively quiet and ideal for wandering through nature and along...More

a lovely place to visit with a nice beach- also good for walks on the land and I like the fact that they are protecting native birds from predators

One of the nicest beaches in New Zealand - except in high summer when it is really busy. Go at a quiet time and have the whole place to yourself!
