Sheepworld is New Zealand’s Sheep and Wool Centre. In twice-daily live demonstrations the dogs round up and bring in the sheep, which are then sorted and shorn. Our Wonderful Wool multimedia exhibition then explains how the fleece is turned into an amazing variety of products, many of which are on sale in our store. There’s also an eco-discovery stroll through native bush, a natural adventure playground, a farmyard full of animals and an on-site cafe. Suitable for all ages.

This place is located just off State Hwy #1 just a few kilometers from Warkworth. It consists of a small animal farm, a large well stocked gift shop, a nice cafe plus they do an excellent display of sheep shearing twice a day. It was a day after a very heavy rain and was still drizzling but the paths were... More

My family loves the place! The sheep show was so fun, educating and eye opener for us. It was hilarious to see how the sheep lined up patiently for their turn to be paraded before the audience just like in a beauty contest! So was the amazing fastt sheep shearing demonstration. The sheepdog was well trained to watch over the... More

A guide is ideal to have the guidance of real professionals who have patience and good humour. In particular the shearing operation by a person who has an affinity for animals and the different breeds and their characteristics. The sheep dogs are amazing how they manage the flocks without aggression and harm under the shepherds guidance. Both adults and children... More

Sheepworld was a place much more enjoyable than I expected. I went there with my friend early in the morning. The bus ride to and fro Sheepworld alone was worth it; as it was quite scenic. The place was engaging right from the start; whether you wanted to feed the animals or during the show. Another interesting part was the... More

Got here about an hour before closing so missed all the shows but an hour was enough for my 3 yr old. She thoroughly enjoyed feeding all the different animals (sheep, alpacas, pigs, goats, horses, ducks, chickens, bunnies, etc.) and the short forest walk (10 -15 mins). It was great to get up close and personal with some of the... More

This kid selected activity became a highlight of our stay in New Zealand. They offer a reasonable family package. The show is outstanding featuring herding, shearing, sorting, and lamb feeding. John. the sheepherder conducting the show, was extremely knowledgable and personable. The associated farm has sheep, rabbits, ponies, cows, ostriches, deer, and alpacas in addition to sheep. Animal food is... More

The shop has much woollen ware. Out back is an animal farm, best for small children and when its not raining. Invest extra money in the sheep shearing demonstration. I really wondered how interesting this could possibly be, and the whole 3 of us for the show learn't things about sheep farming I never imagined. Further you get to see... More

Genuinely enjoyed the visit to sheepworld, especially the show that offered views into the hard business of sheep farming and the tough job of being a shearer. If you haven't been there you missed an important part of New Zealand life.

Such a great experience, visiting sheep ranch, and mini zoo. Too bad we went there when raining. So we can't enjoy watching the dog show. But after that, still got a great time indoor and watching the farmers shearing the sheep.

We visited Sheepworld this week and were not disappointed. Initially we thought the pricing to be a little steep $69 for a family, however the show was amazing and it was one of our favourite parts of our NZ trip. The show went for over and hour and included a sheep round up (by dogs) and sheep shearing demo. My... More
