The sound of the frogs was great, but we could've heard it at our Hostal. There were too many people in the group, so walking around in the dark was challenging. We saw several frogs, but i would skip this activity.

This is a fun thing to do at night. Make sure you take a light with you so you do not have to depend on the guide. Be careful on the trail as it is easy to fall in the water. It was interesting and would be eductional for kids. Do it if you can.

Just walk up the road in the direction of Quito after nightfall and you'll hear the concert for free. Sorry, but these things in Mindo are a total rip off.

Hotel Staff suggested this visit not expecting anyone to take them up on the offer. You must leave at 6.00 pm as the venue is a taxi ride away. Entrance fee was $10.00 I think and we were disappointed with the waiting area thinking that that was all there was. Finally a guide showed up as we were the only... More

I did this my first night and it was the perfect introduction. A taxi takes you well out of town in the full dark. You can bring a flashlight or one is provided for you. You then walk slowly through forested trails and see frogs as well as many other insects and flora. The tour lasted about 2 hours, went... More

they day we went the restaurant was closed which was disappointing. They charge 5$ and they give you a walk in the dark through the woods,

On the day that I went the tour was entirely in Spanish, but one of the other people on the tour was able to translate a little. It was a little underwhelming - we saw a few spiders, a few tiny frogs, a couple of sleeping birds (this was definitely the highlight) and the phosphorescent wood. A lovely concept -... More

I enjoyed the tour. It was nice to learn about different frogs and animals from people who really care about them. I wen't when there were lots of people which unfortunately limited what I was able to see, but I would recommend it. If you are looking for a romantic night, you can have dinner on a boat in the... Shot glass of wine on arrival, yum. Saw a few different species of frogs and spiders, difficult without a torch each though, didn't want to use a phone torch in case I dropped it in the lake. We were asked not to take photos, which was a shame.Basically a half hour walk around the Lago Mindo grounds hunting for wildlife.... More
