This beach has a parking lot across the street and is accessed by a path between houses. It is a nice swimming beach with a good amount of sand to set up on. It is a good walking beach as well with a long stretch...More

We recently stayed in Maui for a week and made sure to check out a different beach on the island every day. We went with a 9 and 6 year old. This beach ranked #1 or #2 for everyone. There were high surf warnings all...More

Full disclosure - the love for this beach is not only because we got married at it. (By the rocks in front on Wailea Ekahi). Despite how special this place is to me, it's really a great open space with lots of great swimming. A...More

We stayed at the Marriott. It has no beach front property so we found ourselves walking north and taking advantage of the beach everyday. While it had many others taking advantage of its sands and water, it was never crowded and was great for walking....More

Each night we would do a sunrise swim using the public parking area at the south of the beach. No issues finding parking. The sand was soft with very little debris and the waves were mild and perfect for swimming. Views of north Maui and...More

This beach had some of the calmest waters I encountered on my recent trip to Maui. I'm not sure if the docile seas are the norm, but on the days I visited Keawakapu the waters were very easy going. Further added bonus for easy access...More

Gently sloping, pretty long beach which is great for swimming, walking, and watching the sun set. Perfect sand. Easily accessible. Except for the hotel at the north end of the beach, there are no facilities. Somewhat less crowded than the nearby Kamaole Beaches.

You can't beat this beach for a great walk, swim, and or people watching. The weekend mornings do get a little busy with the local's enjoying the beach with their dogs, but there is plenty of space for everyone to do their thing while visiting.

If you like boogie boarding, snorkeling, scuba, swimming or just plain beaching then this beach has it all. Easily accessed and not really crowded like many others. We swam with the turtles and fish. Lovely water which can be a bit surfy at times but...More

I have been to Maui 7 times and this is the first time I visited this beach because of the reviews on Trip Advisor. It is a wonderful beach, no big waves and great for swimming and lounging in the water. Then if you go...More

Not sure which shave ice stand you mean, but I don't remember one within walking distance to Keawakapu. It is a bit of a walk from Kamaole 3 for instance, doable for a grownup but hard with kids or carrying beach gear... More
