What a great experience! We opted for the premium seating which, for the small price differential, is well worth it for the unobstructed front row view, and getting the first servings of each course. The meal was bountiful and delicious. Open bar with authentic Hawaiian cocktails - favorite was the Blue Hawaiian.

The highlight was the beautiful show and storytelling by the host, the hula dancers, fire dance and beautiful music set against the stunning Maui sunset backdrop.

We met some nice couples from all over the world at our table and all agreed this was the best luau EVER.

Truly a once in a lifetime experience and I am so grateful.

This was our first luau during our first trip to Hawaii. It was absolutely incredible! The setting was beautiful with the sunset in the background (bring your sunglasses & a fan). The dancers & musicians were fabulous & the food terrific.
There were several courses with a wide variety of food. The open bar tenders & our server were all fantastic. Loved all the drink options! It was very expensive, but well worth the price. Think of this as a cultural experience & show with a nice dinner included.
Our table included a family that has been to many luau’s, they said this was one of the nicest with the round tables & family style food service. There weren’t separate food options for kids, but ours had plenty to eat.
We had the regular seating & all of the tables are fine. The premium seating was allowed in first while the regular seating had a very long line to wait in. If you get there early it’s not a big deal.

This was my favorite thing that we did in Hawaii. The food was good with a variety of meats. The timing of the show was perfect for us. They even took a break just in time for everyone to go get pictures by the water at sunset. The show was so interesting and our group of 11 with ages 15-50 really enjoyed it. I appreciated that it was longer because I felt like we got our money's worth. The music was awesome as well. We upgraded to the premium seating and it was worth it. With premium seating, you can go to a special line to get in that is a lot shorter. Overall, great memories.

We saw 3 luau performances: 2 given onsite at our hotel grounds (Fairmont Kea Lani) for corporate meetings plus this one at the Marriott just down the road. This one had the better quality performances, especially the fire dancers!

The buffet was good with plenty of selection of meats, fruits and local vegetables (blue sweet potatoes, poi), juices as well as adult beverages.

I’d recommend springing for the preferred seating: its only about $20/ticket more and you’re guaranteed a table in the first 2 rows as well as first access to the buffet.

Free ponchos were available during a brief light rain.

The setting is westward facing and so you’re treated to the sunset during your time there.

Oh, how so terribly disappointed we were with our second time to the Te Au Moana Luau. For the cost of this Luau ($725 for a family of 4) it is NOT worth it!! Without question it was the LOWLIGHT of our 12 day trip to Maui. 😩😭

Now that the food service has changed to family style (vs. buffet) it was NOT good. What a bummer because the last time (July 2019) the food was a highlight. This time the pork was dry, the beef was undercooked, the noodles were hard, the desserts were underwhelming, and the drinks were watered down. Sadly, the best part of the meal was the bread.

Our kids were also sad that there were no activities this time (temporary tattoos, lei making,
Etc.) They loved that so much last time and I’m sure this is a Covid protocol now, but how can you charge more money for the Luau and offer less!?!

We enjoy the actual show very much and all the participants give a really good performance, but why pay the incredibly high ticket price when people just walking by can stop and watch the entire show for free. In fact we saw multiple families bring their own food and camp up on the hill by the pool watching the show and eating their dinner. (Notice in our one photo that you can stand/sit from where the photo was taken and watch the entire show for free)

What a terrible waste of money that we could have used to do so many other things on Maui. Shame on Wailea Beach Resort to charge so much for this Luau and have a far less enjoyable experience.

The property and the Luau itself is breathtaking! My boyfriend and I were able to book the week of. We were seated at a table of eight to eat family style and it was so nice to meet new people! The food was incredible and authentic. If you have any dietary restrictions and/or allergies this luau is for you. I am a vegetarian who is allergic to mushrooms and was honestly expecting a bowl of rice to be thrown down in front of me because that’s the usual elsewhere, however that is not the case here. They made me my own platter and my server even came over to explain which items on my plate match up with the authentic meal that everyone else was eating. It sounds corny but it was nice to be included and they definitely exceeded my expectations. The liquor served was towards the well-mid liquor side (Bacardi, Jack Daniels, Svedka) however they had beer on draft and wine available too. The performance itself was incredible, especially with the sunset views. Be sure to support the local vendors on your entrance or exit, they have amazing handmade items!

I will start by saying my expectations of a hotel, large luau are usually not too high. But I felt that the Te Au Moana pleasantly exceeded my expectations at almost every level. We had our own table for my family of 9. 3 course meal served family style at our table. We all felt the food was much better than expected with lots of options for everyone. Server was friendly and attentive. The emcee kept us entertained without going over the top and told interesting stories of all of Polynesia. The dancers had lots of energy and looking like they were having fun keeping us all entertained. This was an excellent luau for the family. And of course, the background scenery was gorgeous. I would recommend this luau.

Well done!
The luau was in a beautiful setting. The serving team members did a great job! They made sure everyone had what they needed and there was plenty of food. The food was good not great. It was certainly what one might expect when feeding a large group. The entertainers were really good and appeared to be enjoying their jobs.
We booked last minute and were right up front.
Overall nice job and I would visit again!

There was a lot to love about this luau. Each family unit had their own table and were served family style (due to Covid). They brought SO much food! And if you liked something and wanted more, they’d bring you that too. All of it was delicious. Plus the open bar was available all night. The show itself was very good. They had to make a lot of adjustments with Covid, making all the performances, demonstrations, etc up on the stage, but it was well done. I loved being able to watch the sun set behind the stage, the weather was perfect. We actually walked over from the Four Seasons, and it was an easy walk. We’d go again!

Ok, I’ve nothing to compare this to apart from a few Elvis films from the 60’s but I loved it. Yes, it’s commercial but you get to see a fantastic sunset, witness a great show and have some tasty food with included drinks. I’d recommend it if you’ve never been before as it’s fantastic entertainment particularly if you’re staying at the hotel.

I noted some people commenting about the costs but actually you’ll find that it’s pretty comparable to the hotel restaurant prices particularly when you consider the inclusive bar. I thought it was good value. Go, enjoy!
