Lovely and well preserved mansion with a lot of history about the local area. The tour was excellent and provided an unique glimpse into the life and times of the pre-Civil War era.

The drive from New Orleans might be about 2 hours and to Vicksburg is another 1 1/2-2 hours. Cotton will have been picked by then, sad to say. But you can buy cotton bowls easily.

No! There is a charge for admission and I think it is $13-$15 dollars per person. The money is used to help with the upkeep of the home. Well worth the price!
