    Thoughtfully Accomodated
Every convenience is thoughtfully provided! Accommodations were very comfortable and spacious! Amenities included a coffee bar with snacks and soft drinks. Not only was a hair dryer provided, but also a curling and flat iron and a white noise machine. The home is one of the finest examples of the era with museum quality collections original to the home. If staying in Natchez, this should be top of the list on where to stay and visit!

    Grand lady.
Mr Garner, the owner and descendant of the builders of this historical home ,gave a most interesting tour.He was a true southern gentleman possessing great wit ,knowledge of his collections, and a wicked sense of humor. He relayed the family history and the role of his forefathers and mothers in managing plantations, entertaining, and acquiring a world class silver, porcelain and furniture collections. The porcelain collection is the largest private collection in the United States. The home is filled with tasteful ambience and family portraits. On our tour, the owner allowed a fellow traveller to play his historical piano. What a treat. the musician was accomplished and the musical notes were sweet, clear and rich We hope to return and book a two day stay at this grand home.

GREAT place to stay in Natchez.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Choctaw Hall! The mansion is absolutely beautiful. We stayed in the big red room. Absolutely beautiful. Very comfortable! David and Lee were as kind as could be. Had tons of snacks out, wine, coffee, tea, soda. The breakfast was offsite, but the breakfast place that they sent us to had great home cooked food. Loved the house tour and all the stories! So personal. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Thank you, guys!

    Best Natchez Stay
This was the best place I’ve stayed while traveling in a long, long time. We were staying here for one night for the Mardi Gras Ball next door at the Natchez auditorium. We showed up 30 minutes before check-in and we’re graciously greeted by the owners who were so so sweet and accommodating. I was immediately given a quick tour and shown our room. We stayed in the Green Room. All amenities being provided is an understatement. The details in everything they put into their hosting is amazing. We had private access to our room right off the street behind a very cool iron gate - very unsuspecting. Everything was clean, well maintained, and sourced beautifully. They give you a breakfast voucher in the morning by slipping it under your door quietly. I found this interesting but really and truly it was amazing to get up and see more of the town. I will 1000% be staying here again ASAP and enjoying more of Natchez. The owners are so friendly and great hosts. 11/10 experience.

A Treat for Those Who Love Art and Beauty
Amazing, amazing porcelain collection and the house is pristine—simply pristine. Among its outstanding features is a spiral staircase leading to a third floor. The railing is memorizing as it invites a climb on its narrow and polished steps. Family portraits are displayed throughout and are evidence of the progenitors of the home’s contents— many artisans who served the French court in the 1700’s. Guests are often awed by the grandeur of the home and its gardens. This a must stay for those with an aesthetic bent.

    A Wonderful Stay
We celebrated our 49th Anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Green Room was spacious and very comfy. All of the B&B rooms are on the ground floor. We loved the shared shared living room. There was plentiful coffee, tea and snack to enjoy. The grounds are meticulous with beautiful statuary. Downtown Natchez is totally walkable from the location. David and Lee are wonderful hosts

Excellent home tour by the owner David. This was the first home tour we went on in Natchez and the bar was set very high. The home, furniture, decorations, and dinnerware were stunning. David told many stories of the area and his family. It’s obvious that he loves welcoming people into his home and telling about the history of the area and his home. I would highly recommend this tour.

Choctaw Hall was the best house and collection tour I’ve ever been on and I toured at least 15 houses on this trip alone! It started with a gracious, welcoming owner, David, inviting me into his home as a friend. Luckily, it was just David and I on the tour so he knew how interested I was in his entertaining stories about family, history and his collections. You could easily spend a lot of time just marveling at the beautiful crystal chandeliers and their infinite reflections in the dual antique French mirrors, but there is always more. David’s collections are so lovely and so extensive that it could be a little too dazzling. It was a feast for the eyes with so much to admire that the tour could easily have gone on much longer if I could. David’s superpower is making his visitors feel like friends and I had more than a few thoughts about how I should buy a cottage just so we could continue friendship! If you like beauty, family stories and history, go on this tour! For me, it was more than worth the price!

One of the few homes in Natchez still owned by the family that actually has family living there full time. Exquisite collection of dining room dishes, glasses, and silverware. The rest of the house is filled with fine collections of porcelain and china figurines made by old world artisans.

If in Natchez and on the mansion circuit, do not pass up Choctaw Hall. This is the only tour we have ever been on where the lifelong owner gives the tour. And what a wonderful tour it was. Mr. Garner, a descendant of the builders of the Hall, was a charming southern gentleman, interesting and knowledgable about every aspect of the home and its vast contents, and the way of life there from the 19th century to date. We spent the first 40 minutes of the tour in the gentleman's living room, sitting as guests and not tourists, listening to Mr Garner's personal and family story. Then on to a tour of this beautiful home. No docents, no ropes blocking rooms, just a new friend showing off his home and life.

This is an outstanding Natchez antebellum mansion and bed and breakfast. We were fortunate to have stayed here 3 nights . The owners- David and Lee are the most gracious hosts and the arrangements make you feel like house guests rather than customers. The 4 suites are beautifully decorated in personal collections reflecting the antiques and preservation restoration throughout the home. There is even a salon room with coffee, snacks, refrigerator and tv , outside access to beautiful gardens, central for the 4 guest rooms all with individual bathroom suites. Lovely. The mansion is unbelievably restored with magnificent collections of antiques, silver, porcelain, artwork all from owners’ personal collection bought and handed down several generations. They reflect the refinement, commitment to preservation, and personal taste for authenticity and beautiful restoration. It is a privilege to stay here. I would heartily recommend for personal visit to Natchez, for a tour, or hosting a special place for a social event. Kathy and Bill

Visited Choctaw and have to say that David Garner the owner was by far the most enthusiastic and informed guide we’ve ever had. The many many artistic works of porcelain and silver are beyond description. A must see.

This place is amazing! David and Lee are the consummate hosts offering snacks and drinks in the community area. The price includes a tour of the beautiful mansion- if you're lucky lead by David whose family built the home-, a wonderful breakfast (we chose Natchez Coffee from their selection) and they welcome dogs with love and affection. We drive from Colorado to Fl a few times a year and add an hour to our drive just to stay at this incredible place.

This was all of our favorite tour of Spring Pilgrimage (we managed to hit about 7 or 8). I am SO disappointed to find that apparently the story of the owner being a descendant of the original families who lived there and having inherited the house and all the furnishings was an elaborate fabrication. I wanted to find out more about the house, and when I did some research online, I found that David and Lee purchased the property in 2014 while looking for a property to buy in Natchez. From their website: "We happened upon Choctaw Hall as we were looking for a weekend getaway cottage in Natchez, Mississippi. We were visiting Natchez so often since the 1980's, charmed by its preservation, rich history, and kind people that we longed for our own little place to call home away from home at Marlsgate in Arkansas. We took a wrong turn, saw the for sale sign, realized its 11,608 sq ft was more than what we had imagined... but it was love at first sight and we couldn't look away.
Two years later, on March 26, 2014, we became the new owners of Choctaw Hall. Fall Pilgrimage 2015 was our first time to be "on tour" with Natchez Pilgrimage Tours... and the rest is history."

The home is absolutely captivating, as are all of the furnishings and accoutrements. I just feel cheated with the whole story of inheriting the house from his grandmother and everything else that went into the ruse.

If you do no other home tour in Natchez, this one is a must! The amazing amount of antiques, rare and valuable porcelain pieces, and priceless silver and china is absolutely overwhelming! The home has been lovingly restored to its stunning beauty and everything in the home was inherited by David, your tour guide. It is mind boggling to comprehend that only one family has owned the furnishings and it has been passed down through the generations. You will love David telling how he became the owner and he freely answers questions. It is very apparent he is proud of Choctaw Mansion, but he is such a gracious host and makes you feel like a guest in his home.
