For a lovely stroll my husband and I went to hike Mt. Tam. Although we drove to the very top we found the temperatures in excess of 100 degrees on that day too much so we drove down the mountain a bit and went for...More

Went here with family, good for views and walking around. Had lunch nearby, also very good. Go early to avoid crowds.

I saw some tours ranging from $50-$80 on trip advisor. My family and I paid $8. We started out on Muir Woods and followed different paths after that. The surroundings are mystical. It rained a couple of times on us but we enjoyed the rain...More

Loved our time on the trail and being in nature. On the weekend lots of people but all polite and pleasant. Parking a challenge.

We came on a cool partly cloudy day. The clouds rolled over the top of the mount and it was beautiful. A very scenic drive on the Panoramic Highway to get here with beautiful vistas.

We headed to the top (evaluation 2572) on a very cloudy day and it was worth the trip. Once we got near the top we broke through the clouds to beautiful views from above. The clouds followed the terrain like a flowing river with rapids!

We drove to the top of Mt. Tamalais and enjoyed the breathtaking views of San Francisco and San Francisco Bay from the top. You can hike from the parking lot to a summit at the very top, but we did not do that. Also, there...More

We hiked in from Muir Woods, up to the ranger station along Bootjack, and the ranger we met was fantastic. She gave us directions up to the Mountain Theatre, with instructions on finding some beautiful vistas along the way. Highly recommended, and easier to park...More

Simply beautiful views and trails. Plan on spending the day if you have the time. We stopped on our way out of San Francisco and did not regret it!

You are fast approaching God's annual wildflower show. Mt. Tam is filled with trails, and a map is usually available at the ranger station. Even on foggy days, you can usually reach the sun well before the summit. Dress in... More

No, it was on the Cataract Trail. The road to Bolinas is also very scenic, and I encourage exploring that too. I was fortunate to go at a time when we were having record rainfall.
