This is not worth the stop. There are a few statues you can see. The film tells about Mount Rushmore but you can see the free film at Mount Rushmore and get as much information. Not worth the extra stop unless you have time to...More

The historical center reveals the background for Mount Rushmore as well as how it was created. You do an audio self-tour. You can take as much time as desired. Only disappointing thing was no photography. There was also a gift shop.

This sets back from the road a bit just past the wood sculptures. Full of history and great information to make more of your visit to the area. Def. worth the stop and admission.

Lots of very interesting historical information. Actual size example of Lincoln's eye carved in granite. Good to see before you visit Mt Rushmore.

GUTZON, I thank you. To appreciate what and how of working in granite, you must tour this place. The geometry involved and the fine detail and documentation were crucial to the completion to our country's greatest home made monument. The risks that were accepted as...More

I am so glad we did this first!! It really taught me all I needed to know and more about the sculptor of Mt Rushmore. Although it isn't as interactive as what people are used to in modern museums, it definitely serves its purpose for...More
