I feel like I may be in the minority here but I definitely didn't expect much here but coming through the mountains and suddenly spotting it as if it snuck up on you was absolutely thrilling. Up close it was good, way better than expected...More

If you are ever in the Rapid City this is a must see. It can be crowded at times but there is ample parking and there is so much to see. The views are spectacular!

The park itself is small and you don't need to be there long, but it was amazing to see the carving of the presidents in person. The area you stand to view this is really pretty close so you can get good pictures of yourself...More

We visited the site twice-- once in the evening for the illumination and once in the morning . Highly recommend doing both. The nice thing is that once you pay the parking fee it is good for more than one day.

Magnificent accomplishment! The monument itself is phenomenal, The museum display with videos is excellent and informative detailing the achievement of this magnificent monument. The display of State flags is a nice touch.

Either Keystone or Rapid City. Keystone is closest to Mt Rushmore and Custer - you will have more of a drive to Badlands but mostly on interstate
