An hour is more than enough to see this icon. You can't get Very near it. Lots of vantage points for great photos and to stand and stare. Facilities are good making it easy to visit. Free too, only pay for parking.

This is a great park. You pay for parking only. No entrance fee. There is remote parking if you like. Walk to the sculptors area at the bottom I have been here twice and didn't visit that area. Boy was that a mistake. You will...More

The best way to see Mount Rushmore is with a guide. It is great without one but having a good guide allows you to understand the history and symbolism in this iconic American symbol. Be sure to watch the movie when you are there.

Good morning Glen, The walkways are 100% accessible, from your car to the main part of the museum I would say is about a 10 minute walk. There are elevators are in both the garage and museum.

There is a spot before entering the parking area where you can get a great view but that would be it. If you go to Custer State Park and take the Needles Highway, there are several pull outs for great views of Mount... More
