Very nice trail.

This easy walk gives you a little bit closer view of the carvings, and has more information on the Presidents.

Easy to walk this trail- set up with places to rest. It's about 1/2 mile and easier to start from the left side. Starting on the right side will require taking steps up. From the left side you end up walking down instead. But take a leisurely stroll and learn history on your way.

This was a nice walk along the base of the monument. It is easier to start walking the trail from the left (facing the monument) It is a paved path. About halfway, you start to descend. But the last .2 mi of the walk is straight up stone steps....so be forewarned!

How magnificent Mt Rushmore looks from this Walk. It is worth all the stair climbing. There are benches frequently spaced if needed. The walk is well maintained and stair groupings nicely spaced. This is more wonderful than I could have imagined.

Be prepared to walk up lots of stairs, though a wide and man-made paved/metal path. We didn't get as close as we thought you might, but the headphone tour was pretty interesting.

The walk is through multiple terrain types and hills and steps. If you need a rest, take it. But it was a must for me. Not many chances to get exercise when your driving cross country.

Awesome views of the monument. When looking at the monument, take the trail to the left if you have trouble walking, have small children or are in a hurry. You see the same views as taking the trail to the right and walking up over 400 steps. I would take the trail to the left and walk down the steps... More

It's a bit of a strenuous walk with a lot of stairs so to be honest, it's not really worth it. The view you get of the faces is no better than when you are on the lookout platform near all the flags. Driving along the highway and stopping at the lookout point to see the profile view of the... More

Beautiful and well-maintained trail. We met people from all over the world while walking there. Great opportunity for family pictures. Tip: the walk may take over 30 mins, the restroom is located in the end of the trail.

This is a great way to get a closer look. Be prepared to climb some stairs, 420 to be exact, but totally worth it.
